The hexagonal shape adds a touch of geometry to the garden, and a faux window on each of the six panels creates a welcoming look. Natural wood shingles cover the flared roof, offering contrast to the unit, and a significant, white finial tops the structure. One window frame surrounds a 1.5" diameter entrance hole, allowing small birds to access the shelter. Two ventilation holes on each of the five other panels aid in regulating the home's internal temperature, and a hole in the center of the base allows any water to drain. The unfinished interior keeps nestlings safe from any toxic fumes, and a ladder underneath the entrance hole enables them to exit the nest when time. Use the included 5" x 5" mounting plate to place this home on a post (not included), offering height and stability to the item. The wooden construction lends weather resistance to the roost, while the body may be removed from the base for end of season cleanings. Meets the Specifications for VW TDI
Size: 1 Quart Pack of 6
I don’t get too excited about motor oil; it just needs to meet the specifications for the application. This oil meets the standards for VW TDI engines (VW 504.00 & 507.00) and several other European turbo diesel engines. While this type of oil is locally available, it is very costly if purchased locally by the quart. There are plenty of other brands like Liqui Moly and Mobile One that offer oils which will meet the specifications, so pick the one you like. After some research, I found there are no great deals in terms of cost, all of the oils that meet the VW 504.00 & 507.00 specifications are going to be on the expensive side. However, Castrol is the brand used by VW, so if that’s important to you, there’s your option.
I have used this type of oil for several years and many thousands of miles with zero issues. If you do your own maintenance, you might as well save a little money and buy in bulk. Storage and shelf life of motor oil is not a concern.
