Kurukulle (Red Tara) Sungkhor Amulet — Handcrafted and Blessed by Jonang Monks

Awaken the power of magnetizing wisdom with this Kurukulle Sungkhor (chakra wheel amulet), lovingly handcrafted and consecrated by Jonang lineage monks in China. Infused with the blessings of Kurukulle (Tib. Rikjema)—the radiant red goddess of enchantment, attraction, and enlightened influence—this traditional amulet draws supportive conditions, removes obstacles, and protects your spiritual journey.

Beloved across Vajrayana for over two millennia, Kurukulle is known as the “Queen of Magic,” a four-armed red Dakini whose fierce, joyful presence embodies the magnetizing activity of the Buddhas. Her power is never mundane; she grants influence, harmony, love, and auspicious conditions only for virtuous, Dharma-focused intentions. In higher tantric practice she holds a bow, arrow, hook, and lasso of flowers, symbolizing her compassionate ability to gather everything beneficial for awakening.

An emanation of Red Tara (Tarobhava Kurukulla) and Amitabha, her Tibetan name means “she who is the cause of knowledge.” Through her blessing, practitioners attract the people, resources, and opportunities that support spiritual growth and a meaningful life.

Kurukulle According to Jetsun Taranatha

The Jonang master Jetsun Taranatha (1575–1635) wrote extensively on Tara and her manifestations, identifying Kurukulle as one of the primary magnetizing dakinis of the Lotus family.

In The Golden Rosary History of Tara, he describes four types of enlightened activity—pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and subjugating—and places Kurukulle firmly in the magnetizing (dbang ’du) category.

Taranatha teaches that:

• Kurukulle “gathers all fortunate and auspicious conditions”

Her red, lotus-family activity draws together the beings, resources, and circumstances that support virtue, Dharma practice, and harmonious relationships.

• “Her activity draws suitable disciples, benefactors, and companions in virtue.”

This makes her practice especially valuable for Dharma teachers, community leaders, and anyone needing supportive, karmically appropriate relationships.

• Her power is unfailing when rooted in Bodhichitta:

“When the intention is pure and directed toward the benefit of beings, the magnetizing activity is unfailing. When mixed with selfish desire, the activity becomes without effect.”

This teaching perfectly mirrors Kurukulle’s deeper meaning: she magnetizes not for ego, but for enlightened purpose.

In The Origin of the Tara Tantra, Taranatha clarifies that:

  • Red Tara’s enchantment is a “power of compassion, not desire.”

  • Magnetizing activities work by “drawing in the conditions that perfect one’s Dharma practice.”

  • Her youthful, radiant beauty is symbolic:

“It is the power of the Lotus family to bind beings with the hook of compassion.”

Taranatha’s ritual texts, including Essence of the Ocean of Attainments, further describe Kurukulle holding the flower-noose and arrow of red utpala, representing the enlightened “hooking” and “binding” activity that summons the fortunate (bkra shis dbang ’du).

The Magnetic Blessing of Kurukulle

Kurukulle is a dynamic emanation of Tara, whose enlightened influence gathers everything needed for spiritual and worldly success. Devotees who connect with her blessings often experience:

  • Goodwill, harmony, and supportive relationships

  • New opportunities and abundant resources

  • Brightness of mind, confidence, and clarity

  • Swift removal of obstacles

  • Meaningful, karmically aligned love and companionship

Her magnetizing activity is spoken of in many traditions, but in the Jonang lineage it is always understood as an expression of compassion, guiding practitioners toward what will truly help them flourish.

The “Magical” Aspect of Tara

Kurukulle embodies the enchanting, miraculous side of the Tara family. Her radiant beauty and magnetizing power have inspired practitioners for centuries, earning her the title “The Passionate Lotus Dakini.”

But Taranatha and the Jonang tradition make her true nature clear:

  • She is not a mundane love goddess.

  • Her activity functions entirely within the field of Bodhichitta.

  • She magnetizes only what is appropriate, beneficial, and karmically aligned.

  • Her influence cannot be used for manipulation or selfish desires.

Kurukulle draws to you exactly what you need—the right teachers, the right students, the right opportunities, and the right relationships—according to your karmic path.

For Dharma teachers, her practice helps gather suitable disciples.
For practitioners, she may summon a partner who fully supports your spiritual life.
For anyone on the path, she attracts auspicious conditions that help remove obstacles and accelerate progress.

This is the true “magic” of Tara: compassionate magnetizing activity that uplifts, protects, and awakens.

What Makes This Sungkhor Special

Each Sungkhor (lit. “protection wheel”) contains a miniature Kurukulle mandala, folded exactly according to ancient Jonang Vajrayana instructions. It is then wrapped in vibrant strings in a deity-specific pattern, preserving both traditional aesthetic and ritual symbolism. This traditional Buddhist mandala (chakra) talisman amulet, was prepared and blessed by Tibetan Lamas at Tashi Chöthang Monastery, the main monastery of Khentrul Rinpoche's root guru Lama Lobsang Trinley.

Key Features

  • Authentically handcrafted by Jonang monks

  • Consecrated with ritual practice invoking Kurukulle’s magnetizing and protective energy

  • Attracts powerful positive conditions for spiritual and worldly accomplishment

  • Removes obstacles and strengthens protection

  • Versatile to wear or carry in daily life

  • Each piece is unique—colors may vary due to its handmade nature

Wearing the Amulet

To avoid damage to the guard wheel, it is recommended to make a cloth cover or a leather cover based on one’s personal preference. It is also dust-proof and moisture-proof for easy cleaning. The amulet can be worn in front of the chest or obliquely on the armpit, or in a carry-on bag.

Mantra to Activate the Sungkhor

OM KURU KULLE HRI SOHA

Reciting this mantra deepens your connection and awakens the Sungkhor’s blessings.

It is best to recite the Dependent Origination Mantra three times before wearing it:
om ye dharma hetu prabhawa
hetun teshan tathagato hyavadat
teshan tsa yo nirodha
ewam vade mahashramanah soha

A Sacred Companion on the Path

Decent bag
Color: Light Grey, Color: Light Grey
2.5 year update: I'm ready to replace my beloved grey bag, but most of the colors more than doubled in price!! I get that there's inflation, but that's insanity. It was $10.99 when I bought in 2019. Forget this brand. Dropped a star. ----------------------------------------- Original review: In the photo, that's a 32oz Nalgene bottle and a small, Periea Chelsy organizer (found on Amazon, 8.5 inches long). 9 months of near daily use so far, no issues! I even got oil and ink stains on it, and they came right out. Great runaround bag, not too big not too small. Love it. First things I did, removed the label and coated it in Kiwi Protect All spray. Pros: - 2 pockets inside are deep and sooo useful - very cute - comfortable and very light to carry - adjustable strap length, for shoulder or crossbody - price is right - machine washable Cons: - zipper is a bit "sticky" - words on the label are classic Chinese-English, reminds me of Taiwan. Lol - no inside lining - fabric could be thicker. It's thin for canvas. - metal hardware is not stainless steel Neutral: - medium size (model must be child size, pay attention to dimensions. I'd say it's similar to standard disposable grocery bag size, cept taller) - durability is questionable. It's not going to come apart if you look at it wrong, but I definitely wouldn't try using this as a bookbag either. For the price, it seems sturdy enough. When this bag dies, I will 100% be buying another one if it's still available. Love it.

Great deal on this tote bag, the strap length is extremely adjustable for size and different wearability. It has good storage space and no pockets inside but works well. It looks great with different colors I have the pink and my boyfriend has the coffee one which looks amazing. I added pins to mine and looks great! Love this bag

I love my bag.
Color: Leopard White, Color: Leopard White
love the design, i barely put anything in it tho because it weighs the bag down even though it’s a nice size. out of the package looks like it hasn’t been sown properly thru, pieces of the fabric sticking out. (loose thread) you get what u pay for but still pretty. Update, Maybe i underestimated my baby love, she fighting the greatest fight! Still love my baby! I would buy another! i want the whole collectionnnnn!

LOVE THIS ZEBRA BAG
Color: Zebra White
I absolutely LOVE this pocketbook! I searched for a zebra print bag, then finally found this! It's big, so beware... Now l lug around everything, haha! Ive had it around a year now & it's traveled alot! It has held up well, except for a few threads, but lve seriously got wayy too much weight in mine! I do wish it had more than the little pockets on the inside (Suggestions for future bags! A big side, zippered pocked would be nice) But lm so glad l got it!!
