Overview
AW (Austworld) FT20 brass female thread 20mm ¾” strainer foot valve is commonly used in pumping, industrial and irrigation applications. The foot valves are submerged in water at the bottom of a pump suction line. The foot valves feature a disc that lifts during suction or water flow and re-seats when not in operation. The foot valves prevent reverse flow and serve as a one-way check valve to stop the water falling back from the pump. This function keeps the pump primed by sustaining the full water columns in the hoses between uses. A failed foot valve can cause airlocks and damage the pumps if running dry. The integrated strainer filters out large debris such as rocks or grass that could interfere with the pump operation.
