COLONY BUILDER is a supplement for the Cepheus Engine roleplaying game and the HOSTILE setting. However, it makes a useful resource for any science fiction RPG.

Build a colony within the HOSTILE setting. Build a colony from your favourite SF movie or TV show. Make it pay. Keep your costs low. And then test in the market. How will it fare with a key group of characters at the helm? Make decisions for them as they try to fix the colony's inevitable problems, chart the fate of your creation into glory or ignominy. And then watch the corporation come in to take your profits!

Colony Builder provides easy-to-use tools that players need to create their own living and breathing extrasolar colonies. Take a budget and spend it wisely, and keep in mind your environment Ð every world is potentially hostile! Once built, your players can take up the roles of key personnel and get to manage the fledgling colony, leading the colonists in the struggle against hunger, air-loss, earthquakes, alien parasites and moreÉ

The book covers the origins of colonial projects and which organizations are responsible for its creation, planning and inception. It includes a dozen useful vehicles and robots (including tree logging machines, hunter-killer seadrones and 4-legged excavators). Great book
Format: Paperback
This is very similar to Panel Two, which I bought because of certain comic book writers that I enjoyed. Panel One is basically the same, which provide examples and even so "how to's" and "why's that" type of information.

Format: Paperback
I love this book. If you are interested in how comics are made do yourself a favor. Also pick up the WIll Eisner textbook trilogy.

Seeing the Creative Process for Graphic Novels
Format: Paperback
This is a fascinating look at the early creative processes writers do when they make scripts for graphic novels. The only down side to this book is it doesn't show any comparison between the scripts and the final product. I suppose that's part of the fun of this book is that you have to imagine the graphics just like the original artists did.
