Jacob Neptune, a wise-cracking, two-fisted Penacook private investigator with a checkered past, lives in upstate New York--four hundred miles from his tribal community on Abenaki Island. Then one night the phone rings. "We . . . got . . . trouble," Neptune's cousin Dennis says from the other end. And trouble is where it all starts in this brilliant, often hilarious novel by acclaimed Abenaki storyteller Joseph Bruchac. Attacked by bikers before he can even board his plane, Neptune--"Podjo" to his friends--quickly begins to realize just how much trouble surrounds his people's ancestral home. Guided by his sense of duty to his homeland, he agrees to help protect Dennis and other Penacooks as they stage a takeover of a state campground on land that should have reverted to their tribe. But encroaching developers, government operators, and even fellow Penacooks eager to build a casino each pose a threat to the Abenaki lands--and all have reasons to want Neptune out of the picture. Podjo greets each challenge with self-deprecating humor--but it's difficult to shake his increasingly disturbing dreams, and an unsettled feeling when his return leads to a reunion with a long-ago love interest. As he and Dennis contend with hired guns, police, and security, a far greater threat appears: someone, or something, is brutally killing people in the woods. It will take all of Neptune's skills as a martial artist and the wisdom gained from tribal elders to battle the forces that threaten the sacred land--and his and his people's lives. Bruchac ratchets the tension from the first page to the last in this detective novel that pairs comedy and action with serious consideration of corporate greed, environmental destruction, cultural erosion, and other modern-day issues pressing Native peoples.

Beyond my expectations…
Scent: Incredible 10/10. The entire shower smells like a spa afterwards. Woody notes, vanilla scent is deliciously heavy and warm, and even one pump delivers a punch of fresh vanilla scent to your entire body. I’m a woman who is in love with heavy earthy scents and this is it!
P.S it also matches well with scents like vanilla, cocoa butter, chocolate, or even delicious “smore” scents! I pair it with vanilla and cocoa butter scented deodorant, vanilla perfume, or vanilla body lotion and it works amazing!
Longevity: Lasts the entire day if I’m staying home just relaxing, not working out or sweating very much. I could shower in the early morning and by the time my head hits the pillow I still smell it faintly!
If I’m out and about it still lasts hours I’d estimate around 6-8 hours before the scent fades! If I shower at 6am, come home at 5pm-6pm after work I still smell fresh! (I always shower 2x a day but you don’t even need to with this!
Value for Money/Size: Oh absolutely! I think I bought this soap two weeks ago? Used it nearly every day, and you can’t even tell! One pump is enough, two pumps MAX per shower per day.
I decided to lavish myself by buying this soap, because it’s a bit more pricey. But it’s actually saving me more money, at this rate I’ll be buying another one of these every 3 months! So that’s…4 times a year? 5 max? That’s incredible. I’ll probably stick with Cremo for life honestly. And I’m a woman!💕🎀

High Quality and Smells Great!
This is so far superior to the standard soaps that you buy off the shelf in a supermarket. It creates a truly luxurious lather and smells fantastic without being obnoxious or perfume.

Cremo Bourbon & Oak 2-in-1: A Gentleman's Shower Staple
Scent: Bourbon & Oak, Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The Cremo Bourbon & Oak 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner isn't just a cleaning product; it's an experience. In a world of sterile, generic men's grooming, Cremo consistently delivers a distinctive, high-quality product that feels far more premium than its price tag suggests. If you're looking to elevate your daily shower ritual, this is the bottle to grab.
The Scent: Unmistakable Sophistication
The most immediate and defining characteristic of this product is, without a doubt, its Bourbon & Oak fragrance. It masterfully blends warm, slightly sweet notes of aged oak and barrel-aged bourbon with a subtle, earthy musk.
Projection: The scent is robust in the shower, creating a satisfying, rich steam, but it quickly settles down. It leaves a subtle, masculine residual scent on your hair that lasts for hours without overpowering cologne. It smells authentic—like a high-end barbershop mixed with a cozy speakeasy.
Aroma Profile: Unlike many cheap fragrances that smell synthetic, the Cremo scent is layered and complex, avoiding that cloying sweetness that can plague other vanilla or wood-based products.
Performance: The Best of Both Worlds
When it comes to 2-in-1 products, there's always a risk of compromise—great cleaning, poor conditioning, or vice versa. Cremo successfully sidesteps this pitfall.
Cleansing Power: The shampoo produces a rich, satisfying lather that effectively cuts through product buildup and oil without stripping the hair of its natural moisture. It leaves the scalp feeling invigorated and genuinely clean.
Conditioning Efficacy: This is where the product truly shines. After rinsing, the hair feels surprisingly soft and manageable. For men with shorter to medium-length hair, the built-in conditioner provides enough hydration to prevent that stiff, straw-like feeling that often follows a wash. It makes combing and styling noticeably easier.
Formula: It’s formulated to rinse clean with no residue, which is essential for a product designed for daily use.
The Verdict
The Cremo Bourbon & Oak 2-in1 is an exceptional offering that delivers on its promises. It is the gold standard for men who want a convenient, high-performing 2-in-1 without sacrificing the luxury of a refined scent.
Final Recommendation: Buy it. This is an easy replacement for whatever generic shampoo you currently have in your shower. It’s an effortless way to upgrade your routine and start your day with a confidence-boosting aroma.

Scent: Palo Santo, Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
absolutely love the Palo Santo Chemo Body Wash by Cremo. The scent is warm, woodsy, and slightly sweet without being overpowering. It smells clean but elevated — like a subtle, high-end cologne that lingers just enough after you shower.
The lather is rich and creamy, and a small amount goes a long way. It leaves my skin feeling clean and moisturized without that tight, dry feeling some body washes cause. The fragrance lasts for hours, which I appreciate because it layers well with other products.
If you like warm, earthy scents with depth, this is a must-try. I will definitely be repurchasing!
