Warren MacKenzie (1924 2018) was known for modernist wheel thrown functional pottery influenced by Bernard Leach and the Japanese aesthetic of the work of Shoji Hamada. His first wife, Alix, was also a noted ceramicist and decorated his pots until her death in 1962. He is credited with bringing the Japanese Mingei, or

His first wife, Alix, was also a noted ceramicist and decorated his pots until her death in 1962. He is credited with bringing the Japanese Mingei, or folk, style of pottery to Minnesota, where it is known as the Mingei-sota style. In great condition.
