... Octogenarian musician, composer, vocalist and teacher Pedro Beltrán aka 'Ramayá' hails from Patico, a small town in Colombia's Bolívar province, not far from the Caribbean coast. He has been crowned Rei Momo of the carnival in Barranquilla, and recorded many albums as a leader and sideman, working with various domestic and international pop artists as well, from Quantic and Thornado to Systema Solar. While his main instrument is the ;caña de millo' flute, he is also proficient in the various percussion instruments of his region as well as the reed instrument known as 'gaita'. His group La Cumbia Moderna de Soledad (named for the large city within the municipality of Barranquilla) was founded in the early 1970s when Ramayá had already retired from a career in the army and was living in Soledad. With this group he set out to 'modernize' the folkloric music of his people, adding the electric bass and a brass section to fresh arrangements of cumbias, porros, fandangos, puyas, and other costeño genres. What's more, the band often did left-field cover versions of international dance hits that were popular in the region's sound systems (picós) and discotheques, from Fela Ransome-Kuti And The Africa '70's 'Shakara Oloje' to Rod Stewart's 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy'. If you think this sounds like a case of post-colonial cargo-cult worship or a record label marketing gimmick, think again, because there is something fantastically otherworldly yet 'right' about this cross-cultural mash-up, especially since La Cumbia Moderna de Soledad proudly maintained it's authentic Afro-Colombian and indigenous roots throughout, making for an infectious mix that was very popular at the time (especially in the Carnaval de Barranquilla) and is still danced to today by Colombians and other fans all over the world. In a way it's as if these musicians, brought up in the ancient rural traditions of their culture, were trying to make musical sense of the rapidly changing and mechanizing urban environment around them. La Clavada (1979) was La Cumbia Moderna de Soledad's sixth record and first for Codiscos' Costeño imprint. The LP has many excellent examples of Pedro 'Ramayá' Beltrán's innovative, catchy and downright playful mix of the ancient and the modern, making for a collection of tunes brimming with tradition and yet fearlessly bristling with innovation... -Pablo Iglesias, aka DJ Bongohead Presented in facsimile artwork and pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

Amazing Matcha Powder<3
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 3.5 oz (100g), Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 3.5 oz (100g)
Probably one of the best matcha powders I’ve tried off of Amazon. It had all the notes, umami, nuttiness, matcha flavor, natural sweeteners and a hint of bitterness. When I first opened the packaged it has a strong and good smelling matcha smell. It’s a super vibrant green and looks very creamy even as just a powder. There was no clumps visible and mixed with water super smoothly. The texture of the powder was on point. There was no weird gooeyness going on. Onto my second 100g bag now. Definitely my go to matcha powder now, will be buying as long as it is available.

Sweet & nutty😍
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g), Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
I actually like it I’m new to matcha so I’m starting with cheaper ones first I definitely recommend this! It’s so much different than the other ones I’ve gotten, it’s super sweet you literally don’t need any sweetener to it it tastes really good it’s nutty and buttery with sweetness I only rated it a 4 because I lowkey like my matcha bitter ish but I know many of you like it sweet it’s really green it’s a nice color the quality overall is great it’s smoothness and all its worth the money so definitely buy it! (I used Starbucks ice in the pic I didn’t purchase that obviously 😍)

From Someone Who Actually Drinks Japanese Matcha Regularly
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g), Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
After trying a lot of Amazon matcha brands, I honestly think people expecting this to taste super sweet or creamy might be misunderstanding what traditional Japanese matcha is supposed to taste like.
This one has more of that genuine, earthy, slightly umami flavor that I usually experience at Japanese matcha cafes. Mine was fresh, smooth, and produced a really delightful latte. It definitely wasn’t “fishy” like some reviews suggested.
I also noticed some people complained about bitterness, but using water that’s too hot can ruin almost any matcha. Once I prepared it correctly, the flavor was balanced and clean.
For the price, I actually think it’s a pretty solid everyday ceremonial-style matcha.

Ok for the price but not amazing
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
It is fine for the price but has a bit of that unpleasant cheap matcha taste so wont be rebuying. Decent bitterness but not really creamy or sweet in my opinion. The color is good tho so aesthetically it is very pretty.

Best quality for price!
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
One of the best ceremonial matcha powders I’ve ever tried! It blends and froths up so easily and it tastes like true authentic matcha. I was very surprised with the quality and so happy I found a new one.
