Winsor & Newton use a modified linseed oil and safflower oil in their Artisan paints, which means no solvents are needed and the paint can be cleaned up with water. These water mixable oils are easy to work with and have a nice thick consistency. their light fastness, opacity and transparency, drying time and depth of colour are all comparable to conventional oil colours.
