MTC Bio culture tubes are available in both 12×75mm (5mL) or 17×100mm (14mL) capacities. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) snap caps can be attached in two positions. The first position allows for the flow of air both in and out of the tube enabling aerobic culturing. The second position offers a leak-proof and air-tight seal making it ideal for anaerobic culturing and/or sample storage.
The tubes are available in two plastic polymers. Crystal clear polystyrene (PS) tubes withstand temperatures from 0°C to 70°C, while durable transparent polypropylene (PP) tubes withstand temperatures of from -86°C to 121°C.
Tubes are available with caps attached and printed graduations, or without caps and graduation-free. Polystyrene tubes may be centrifuged at up to 2000×g. Polypropylene tubes withstand higher centrifugal forces, up to 4000×g.
All tubes and caps come sterilized to SAL 10-6 and are RNase, DNase, pyrogen and cytotoxin free.
