Six Questions Your BurgerFi Franchise Business Plan Must Answer

We built this franchise unit business plan in Microsoft Word using our own research into the brand and the fast-casual market. All six chapters are pre-populated with data specific to opening and operating a single franchise unit, including financial projections showing a 4-year payback period and first-year revenue of $1,750,000. The entire document is fully editable to match your specific location and strategy.

Executive Summary: What is the core business opportunity?

The opportunity is to launch a premium fast-casual burger franchise in a high-traffic, affluent area like The Domain in Austin, Texas, capitalizing on strong demand from tech professionals and eco-conscious consumers for high-quality, sustainable food options. The business model is designed for high-volume lunch and weekend traffic, supported by a strong digital ordering platform.

Key Business Case Metrics

  • Projected to reach profitability within 3 months of its March 2026 launch.
  • Forecasts show strong revenue growth, scaling from $1.75M in the first year to over $2.87M by year five.
  • The plan is built to support a significant startup investment, with build-out costs at $350,000 and equipment at $120,000.

Products & Services: What does the unit sell and why will customers choose it?

The unit sells an upscale menu centered on 100% natural Angus beef burgers, premium Wagyu blends, and plant-based options like the VegeFi burger. Customers will choose this location for its superior ingredient quality, commitment to sustainability, and a localized experience featuring Austin-only craft beers, which differentiates it from standard fast-food competitors.

Core Menu Proposition

  • An elevated alternative to traditional fast food with a focus on all-natural, high-quality ingredients.
  • A curated beverage menu with local craft beers to attract the specific Austin demographic.
  • A sophisticated atmosphere with an expansive patio, ideal for both quick corporate lunches and relaxed weekend dining.
[dynamic_pic10]

Market Analysis: Who are the target customers and what is the competitive landscape?

The primary customer segments are tech professionals from nearby corporate offices seeking efficient, high-quality lunch options, and eco-conscious residents and shoppers who value sustainability and natural ingredients. The competitive landscape includes other fast-casual brands, but this unit will differentiate itself with its premium positioning, sustainable practices, and localized offerings.

Local Market Focus

  • Targeting the high-density population of tech workers and shoppers in North Burnet and The Domain.
  • Focusing on health-conscious consumers with plant-based menu items and a transparent supply chain.
  • Leveraging a prime real estate location with high foot traffic to capture both weekday and weekend crowds.
[dynamic_pic11]

Marketing and Sales: How will the unit attract and retain customers?

The unit will attract customers through a mix of localized digital marketing, community partnerships, and influencer collaborations targeting the Austin tech and wellness communities. Retention will be driven by a high-touch service model, a seamless digital ordering platform for convenience, and community engagement through events and local nonprofit partnerships.

Customer Acquisition Strategy

  • Utilize social media and local fitness influencers to promote healthy and premium menu options.
  • Host community events and partner with local breweries to build brand loyalty and drive traffic.
  • Implement a robust digital ordering system to cater to the corporate lunch rush and tech-savvy clientele.
[dynamic_pic12]

Management and Organization: Who will run the unit and how will it be staffed?

The unit will be run by an experienced franchisee owner with direct oversight, supported by a full-time Store Manager earning an $80,000 annual salary. The staffing plan includes an Assistant Manager, two Shift Supervisors, and a team of Line Cooks and Front of House Staff, ensuring consistent execution of the franchise's high-touch service and quality standards from day one.

Key Staffing Roles

  • A dedicated Store Manager and Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure brand compliance.
  • A growing team of Shift Supervisors, scaling from 2.0 to 4.0 full-time equivalents (FTEs) over five years.
  • Sufficient Line Cooks and Front of House Staff to manage projected sales volume and maintain service speed.
[dynamic_pic13]

Financial Plan: What are the startup costs, revenue potential, and key metrics?

The initial investment is significant, driven by a $35,000 franchise fee, $350,000 in leasehold improvements, and over $300,000 in equipment and fixtures. The financial model projects the unit will break even by March 2026, just 3 months after opening, and achieve full payback in 4 years. This is defintely an ambitious but achievable plan based on the market.

Financial Highlights

  • Year 1 revenue is projected at $1,750,000 with an EBITDA of $480,000.
  • The business requires a minimum cash balance of $525,000 to manage initial operating losses and working capital.
  • Ongoing franchise fees include a 5.5% royalty and a 1.5% marketing fee, which are factored into the profitability analysis.

Great for Indy Comic and Zine Covers
Size: 11"X17"
I use both the 11x17 and 8.5x11 Koala Glossy Inkjet papers as cover stock for Night Phoenix Press mini comics and zines, most often as Kickstarter add-ons or promo items. For that role, they deliver. The gloss finish immediately gives even short-run projects a polished, professional look with the other side having a matte finish which I can flip over for sketch covers using the matte side for the exterior cover. Colors print vibrant, blacks are strong, and the surface takes ink evenly without streaking. The finish looks clean enough to pass for offset printing on both inkjet and laser printers. This paper is also great for comic covers because it can fold down the middle without splitting the gloss coating too much if at all. The 8.5x11.5 works just as well for minis, one-shot zines or inserts. Between the two sizes, I can cover nearly every indie project format I need. They have just enough weight to feel like a true cover while still running smoothly through an inkjet printer. These books are often handled by backers or used as handouts, so durability matters. The stock holds up, though glossy paper can pick up fingerprints or light scuffs if stacked loosely. Bagging finished copies or boxing them quickly solves that. For the cost, it’s a dependable option that makes Kickstarter rewards and promo zines look far more professional than plain paper covers. For creators producing indie comics, add-ons, or zines on a budget, this paper is one of the easiest ways to elevate presentation without driving up printing costs. -Nathyn Brendan Masters

Ausurion products protection
Asurion is a great company to insure your products whenever you purchase items from online businesses like, Amazon. I had a portable hot spot device ordering from Amazon with a 3-year protection plan, unfortunately, the device has accidentally fallen and refused to turn on, then I went on Asurion Online website and filled in a claim and waited for approval to take that device for repair, luckily, they do not haven’t repaired shop services near me, they just refunded the original item price to me by Amazon Gift cards without knowing it few days than expected. I highly recommend Asurion for your product insurance needs.
