During the last two decades, sociologist Pierre Bourdieu has become a dominant force in cultural activity ranging from taste in music and art to choices in food and lifestyles. The Field of Cultural Production brings together Bourdieu's major essays on art and literature and provides the first introduction to Bourdieu's writings and theory of a cultural field that situates artistic works within the social conditions of their production, circulation, and consumption. Bourdieu develops a highly original approach to the study of literary and artistic works, addressing many of the key issues that have preoccupied literary art and cultural criticism in the last twentieth century: aesthetic value and canonicity, intertextuality, the institutional frameworks of cultural practice, the social role of intellectuals and artists, and structures of literary and artistic authority. Bourdieu elaborates a theory of the cultural field which situates artistic works within the social conditions of their production, circulation, and consumption. He examines the individuals and institutions involved in making cultural products what they are: not only the writers and artists, but also the publishers, critics, dealers, galleries, and academies. He analyzes the structure of the cultural field itself as well as its position within the broader social structures of power. The essays in his volume examine such diverse topics as Flaubert's point of view, Manet's aesthetic revolution, the historical creation of the pure gaze, and the relationship between art and power. The Field of Cultural Porduction will be of interest to students and scholars from a wide range of disciplines: sociology and social theory, literature, art, and cultural studies.Binding Type: Paperback

The best lotion I have ever used!
Great for all the locations that dry out, especially in cold weather. Goes on easily, and dries quickly! Stays protecting for hours!

Deep Moisture Without the Greasy Feel
Size: 20.3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Deep Moisture Without the Greasy Feel
I’ve tried countless lotions over the years for my dry skin, and this Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair is one of the best. It has that classic Vaseline jelly component, but in a light lotion form that actually sinks in quickly instead of sitting on top of your skin. The first thing I noticed is how non-greasy it feels—you don’t get that sticky film that some heavy moisturizers leave behind. I can put this on in the morning and go about my day without leaving residue on my clothes or phone.
The formula works fast. Within a couple of days, the dry patches on my arms and shins were noticeably softer, and by the end of the week my skin felt consistently smooth. It’s also truly unscented—no heavy perfumes, which makes it perfect for sensitive skin or for layering with a cologne or perfume. The fact that it carries the National Eczema Association seal of acceptance is reassuring too.
The 20.3 oz bottles are generous, and the pack of three means I can keep one in the bathroom, one by the bed, and one in the guest room. That kind of convenience makes it easy to stick to daily use.
A small note: because it’s a “healing” lotion, the texture is a little thicker than a lightweight daily moisturizer, but that’s exactly why it works so well. Just don’t expect it to be a thin, watery lotion—it’s more substantial.
Bottom line: A rich but non-greasy lotion that heals dry, itchy, or sensitive skin quickly, and the value of the 3-pack makes it a smart buy for anyone who needs reliable daily moisture.

Excellant product..excellant pricing
Size: 20.3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Another great product that I can now get from Amazon and not have to worry about "locating" in some store. Amazon's price is great for the sizing of the bottle, the product is absolutely non-greasy, very low in fragrance. I use it for an all-over body lotion and my skin stays soft.
