D5503 BR green (as delivered)Our third ‘Toffee Apple’ release represents D5503 as delivered to 30A Stratford depot in January 1958 after it quickly settled into life around East London and on the ex-Great Eastern and Midland & Great Northern Joint lines in East Anglia working almost any services that its home shed could throw at it. The 1,250hp Mirrlees Type 2s were not uprated like their ‘production’ colleagues and along with the English Electric Type 1s and Type 4s were among the most reliable of the pilot scheme locomotives, albeit underpowered. In those early years of dieselisation they could be found working everything from express trains out of Liverpool Street to Clacton, Norwich, Cambridge and King’s Lynn, block freights from Essex onto the Western and Southern Regions, busy holiday services to Great Yarmouth, Hunstanton and Lowestoft and pick-up wagonload services on the region’s extensive pre-Beeching branch line network. In April 1959 it was one of eight members of the small fleet to transfer to 31B March, although it was back at Stratford by the following December. D5503 wears its distinctive original paint scheme with ‘eggshell’ blue window surrounds and bodyside stripes which was only applied to the D5500-D5519. This lasted into the early 1960s before the small fleet started to gain the small yellow panels and were repainted into the same ‘production’ livery as carried by our model of D5501 in the second run. Renumbered 31003 in March 1974 it lasted into the final year of the type and was withdrawn in February 1980 along with 31005. It was quickly moved to Doncaster Works where it was cut up five months later.

Not the best, but not the worst either
Format: Hardcover
By any means not the funniest book in the series, only the one on Krusty the Clown was more un-funny; but still a worthy addition to your collection and, just like all the others from the series providing a retrospective of anecdotes you might have forgotten.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.

Good for my collection.
Format: Hardcover
This was another quick and entertaining read. This instalment wasn't as enjoyable as some of the other books but it was still good. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

SO GOOD!
Format: Audiobook
I haven’t read a YA or a thriller in such a long time so having both of these combined in one book was an absolute pleasure because it was such a fun book to read! This is my first full length novel by this author, I’ve read MANY of her fanfiction writings and they are truly top tier, and I knew this would be just as good as, if not better. And to no surprise, it was. There was a plethora of secrets and a ton of mystery sewn in throughout this book. It kept me guessing the entire time, which I absolutely love about thrillers. It took me a little bit to get into it after the first few chapters but once I did, I was thoroughly sucked into it. I read from chapter 5 on in one sitting. That epilogue.. SO GOOD! And I really want more. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for an intriguing, easy, filled with mystery, suspense, and something different. P.s. I would thoroughly enjoy a romance book between Jodi and Julian. PLEASE AND THANK YOU! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
