Having successfully reissued French cult prog album Pole by Besombes and Rizet, Gonzai Records now pursues it's exploration of kosmische and repetitive music with the vinyl release of Pointe Du Lac's self-titled album, initially brought out digitally in October of 2014. Pointe Du Lac (Point of the Lake) is a French trip to Kosmische Land oscillating between the German autobahn of Kraftwerk and one of the most romantic Parisian subway stations, which gave it's name to the project led by Julien Lheuillier. "When they opened this station approximately three years ago" says Julien, "I said to myself that the name of the station opened an imagination, big deserted spaces. I wanted the music to be the reflection (dreamlike and contrasted) of that vision. We can hear imaginary lakes and subways there, old and brand new synthesizers. The eight tracks of Pointe Du Lac does not represent a kind of hallucinated vision of a route towards the Point of the Lake station, but a station which doesn't exist, or which would be somewhere in the cosmos." Following the lead of the contemporary French avant-garde (Chassol, Bajram Bili, Jonathan Fitoussi) and sometimes sounding like an echo to Air's Virgin Suicides, Pointe du Lac is one of the most beautiful instrumental records recently heard. "The inspiration behind the eight album pieces by Pointe Du Lac might have been inspired by krautrock and other German electronic music, but it has definitely killed the Buddha and succeeded in express feelings with it's own musical language." Great look and very powerful - consider what your wanting to froth/mix - may be too powerful

It's a great frother - but more for large drinks. Very powerful, even on the low speed. I returned it because I want something to mix my collagen and creamer in my coffee. The first time I turned it on it shot half the coffee out of the cup - very powerful. It has a great look, sleek and fits easy in the hand - but for what I needed, two powerful. It would have been nice to have a fully adjustable speed wand like my replaceable battery powered frother.

Powerful, rechargeable battery, easy to use & clean

2 speeds, easy to change back and forth to different speeds with one click , easily blends 1/4 cup protein powder in 12 oz milk on low speed. Easy to clean: Stick blending wand in tall glass with warm water + dish soap, turn on low speed to clean easily (don’t stick the part that holds the battery in glass). Also of note, chosen by Americas Test Kitchen as best milk frother but I use it to make protein shakes.

Works great on bullet coffee!!

I am really pleased with this frother! Frothers I have used in the past didn’t mix my decaf coffee, 2% milk, and MCT oil as thoroughly as I like (oil and coffee separated). This frother blends everything AND I get a nice layer of frothy milk on top!!! Charge lasts a long and the froth can be submerged all the way up to the button!!!

Great upgrade compared to others

This frother is far superior to other hand held versions we’ve owned. The attachments are much sturdier and don’t bend as easily (which made the others we’ve purchased quite useless). Rechargeable battery seems to last longer and provides plenty of power even on the lowest setting. The little wisk easily whips up eggs for a morning omelette and frothing cream and mixing powder into drinks are super easy with the other attachments. Finally, the stand is actually sturdy and balanced enough that it doesn’t easily tip over.

Three froth/blend options, rechargeable, comes with container

I watch a gentleman online who always talks about how in his 40 years he didn’t know x, y, z, and ends with “ain’t no way.” He made this 3-ingredient — 4 with ice— iced coffee, and used a handheld frother, so after shopping for ingredients, I went in search of a frother. What I liked about this one is that it’s not battery operated, but instead is rechargeable. It comes with three attachment, one of which I can use for cake batter, whipping up eggs, making homemade whipped cream, and also sauces and gravy. It also has a case so I am storing it with my coffee paraphernalia. It has three settings and I used the high setting. As you can see it really froths up the ingredients. I’m very pleased with my purchase and thought about all the times I need a slurry of water and cornstarch to thicken soups and stews. I don’t know the charge life yet, but so far, so good. What you see in the cup is 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, 3 teaspoons of instant espresso, and 2 ounces of water. Then you add the ice and your creamer, half-and-half, or barista lover’s oat milk, and you’re done. Not too bad, as my grandpa used to say.
