Carbon Fiber Slide Hammer | Druz Toolz

The Carbon Fiber Slide Hammer from Druz Toolz represents a new level of performance and precision in the paintless dent repair (PDR) industry. Engineered for professional technicians who demand efficient, reliable, and lightweight tools, this slide hammer delivers smooth, powerful pulls while minimizing fatigue and wear.

This short stroke hammer is compact yet powerful, combining innovative materials and thoughtful design to optimize every aspect of dent pulling. The carbon fiber shaft and sliding walls not only reduce weight but also prevent metal-on-metal contact, resulting in quiet, smooth operation with less maintenance required.

Advanced Materials for Superior Performance

Druz Toolz has carefully selected carbon fiber as the primary material for this slide hammer’s shaft and internal sliding walls. Carbon fiber is known for its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and ability to dampen vibrations. By wrapping the shaft and internal slide components in carbon fiber, this tool significantly reduces noise and wear compared to traditional stainless steel models.

This eliminates the grinding or squeaking sounds often heard during metal-on-metal contact in other slide hammers, making your work environment more comfortable for you and your customers. Plus, the carbon fiber’s inherent durability ensures the slide hammer stands up to daily, heavy-duty use without performance loss.

Compact Design for Tight Spaces

One of the standout features of the Druz Toolz Carbon Fiber Slide Hammer is its short 3.5-inch stroke length, ideal for working in confined or hard-to-reach areas. The hammer’s overall length compresses to just 10 inches and extends to 13.5 inches when fully extended, making it easy to maneuver in tight engine bays, door jambs, or near vehicle trim.

This compact size doesn’t compromise power. The internal redesign of the slide mechanism maximizes the impact force delivered with each pull. The result is a tool that offers precise, controlled pulling strokes capable of handling stubborn dents on aluminum or steel panels without overwhelming the technician.

Innovative Internal Redesign

The Carbon Fiber Slide Hammer’s internal mechanism is fully reengineered compared to previous stainless steel models. This redesign focuses on enhancing travel smoothness and impact consistency while minimizing internal friction.

By employing carbon fiber sleeves and guides inside the shaft, the sliding hammer weight glides effortlessly with less resistance. This design reduces technician fatigue by requiring less force to operate the slide, allowing for more accurate pulls over longer work periods.

This smooth, low-friction operation also extends the lifespan of the tool, cutting down on maintenance costs and downtime.

Adjustable Weight System for Customized Pulling Power

Included with the hammer are two rear-mounted weights: a small cap weight weighing 5.3 oz (150g) and a long weight of 20 oz (571g). These weights attach easily to the rear of the hammer and can be swapped to adjust pulling force based on the dent size or panel material.

Additional weights are planned for future release, including a large stand weight that lets the tool stand upright on your cart for quick access and safer storage. This modular weight system gives technicians full control over the hammer’s feel and impact, adapting the tool to fit various repair needs.

Designed with Professional PDR Technicians in Mind

Druz Toolz understands the demands placed on PDR techs who work long hours and need tools that enhance efficiency without adding strain. The lightweight carbon fiber construction ensures this slide hammer weighs just 1.3 lbs (595g) without weights, drastically reducing hand fatigue during repetitive pulling tasks.

Its compact size and ergonomic design make it ideal for mobile techs or shop professionals who require a versatile tool capable of handling multiple repair scenarios—from hail damage to minor door dings.

Versatility for Different Panels and Glue Pulling Techniques

The slide hammer is optimized for glue pulling on both aluminum and steel panels, ensuring compatibility across a wide range of vehicles and repair jobs. Its precision engineering allows for controlled pulls that minimize risk of over-pulling or panel distortion.

Paired with compatible glue tabs and accessories, the Druz Toolz Carbon Fiber Slide Hammer is a powerful addition to any PDR toolkit, capable of delivering clean, professional results consistently.

Durability and Longevity

Beyond performance, durability is critical for professional tools exposed to daily wear and tear. The carbon fiber components resist corrosion, scratches, and dents better than metal-only tools, while the stainless steel internal hardware offers added strength.

The external finish on the hammer is designed to withstand harsh workshop environments, resisting chemical exposure, oils, and dirt. Regular cleaning and proper maintenance will keep the tool in peak condition for years.

Easy Maintenance and Accessory Compatibility

Thanks to its modular design, the Carbon Fiber Slide Hammer is easy to clean and maintain. The lightweight construction also facilitates transport and storage, making it a reliable tool for mobile PDR setups.

This slide hammer is compatible with a range of accessories, including additional weights and various pulling tabs, allowing technicians to customize their setup for each job’s unique demands.

Quality multi display hub
Works as intended, good value for the money and reasonably sized. I am currently running two 4K HDMI monitors on it without an issue. Ready to go out of the box and has a sturdy design, would recommend.

Anker support comes through
Update: Anker support contacted me and provided a new unit. On this one, the video works fine, both via HDMI and DisplayPort. I'm much happier now that the unit, which I do like, works properly. There is still one video-related quirk that can be annoying, though, if you often unplug the external monitor from the hub but leave the hub connected to the computer. When I unplug the external monitor from the hub, the hub doesn't tell the computer that the monitor is no longer connected (the same thing happened with the original faulty unit). Since the external monitor is my primary monitor when connected, this leads to an irritating set of steps ending up with disconnecting the hub. I reported this issue to Anker support and they forwarded it to their engineering group. Initial review: I like the form factor and the many connection options. They all work fine EXCEPT that the video (whether DisplayPort or HDMI) keeps dropping out. The computer (MacBook Pro M1 14" running MacOS 13.0.1) thinks the external monitor is there, but nothing shows on the screen for a few seconds, then it comes back on, then off again. Anker support says to try updating the firmware, but to do that requires a Windows computer with a USB-C port. I do not have access to such a machine, so I'm stuck. Since one of the primary reasons I want a hub is to handle the video, I have to return the unit. This is a real disappointment since I otherwise have been very happy with Anker products.

Incredible Quality, Incredible Results!!
AMAZING!! I use my Samsung Z Fold with a Maono Podcast Soundboard for podcasting. Having the phone charge from the soundboard power passthrough was inadequate to keep the phone charged, and generated "noise" in the path. I got the Anker 565 USB-C hub, and routed the power and signal through the Anker hub. WOW!! My phone remains fully charged throughout the podcast, there is ZERO "noise" in the signal, and I can actually do more than ever expected! The quality of Anker products has been proven with me Over and Over with every single product I have purchased. From high-end 240w USB-C cords, to Power Banks, Power Blocks, Bluetooth Earbuds & Headphones, across the board; I have never been disappointed! I highly recommend Anker, and specifically the Anker 565 USB-C hub!!

Versatile with all the ports you’re looking for.
Compact and really expands your options. I was using one of the ports on the MacBook Pro M1 for a second display and the other for an external drive and then switching back and forth with the charger. This device does all that and only uses one of the ports. Plus there are multiple USB OLD STYLE still available. No external power appears to be necessary, although since I use the Mac power supply in the dedicated power in port I’d think there’d be no issue.

Good product, I suspect, if it works. (Also Marketing Needs Improvement)
UPDATE: Nope, it's just the hub. :( It's either defective or not a good product, which is unfortunate. The stutter issue has been resolved, but I can still not use the dock to push an image to my secondary monitor (1080p). I spent several hours this evening updating drivers for my Lenovo Thinkpad E15 Gen2 (AMD) without success. FYI: This laptop DOES support PD+DP through USB-C, something I confirmed before trying to go down the USB-C route in an attempt to replace my ancient Diamond USB-A dock. An image was never sent to my second monitor, whether connected via HDMI or DP through the hub. In all cases, the monitor IS recognized by Windows, so some information is being communicated, just not an image to the monitor. During every attempt, when the monitor was first plugged in, responsiveness in Windows would stutter, lag, and generally respond slowly to my KB+M inputs until, eventually, the laptop caught up and was OK. I am highly disappointed and am considering returning both products, but the USB-C dock is definitely returning. It would be nice, but I don't need a 100W charger. My hope of replacing my current USB-A dock is diminishing at the price point I was hoping for, so we shall see if it's up to the task of the new 2K monitor I have on the way and go from there. Original: Buyer be cautioned: The Anker 565 USB-C also needs power for itself, which is evident if you think about it, but it's not stated anywhere that I could find, and it may not dawn on you until things aren't working quite right. Lack of power could cause many issues I've read about in reviews. The issue: Mouse movement would stutter every 5-10 seconds. Though Windows recognized my HDMI monitor in Device Manager/Display settings, no image was sent to it through the Anker hub. Current theory: So, the manufacturer's 65W USB-C charger for my laptop cannot FULLY power the hub with one connected HDMI monitor, two USBs, and Ethernet through the USB-C hub. I did not test the two USB devices (Keyboard and headset) as there was little need once the stuttering began, which was immediate. I have an Anker Nano 100W arriving tomorrow, and I will update the review once I've re-tested. Suggestion: My ask to Anker would be to *estimate* the power draw of their dock and list it somewhere with many warnings, etc. If they wanted to go above and beyond and add averages for peripherals and the like, that would be amazing, but if not, I would understand, as I'm sure that information could become dated fast. A power warning would have prompted me to consider the power charging situation, and I may gone with one of their docks (About a $100 increase) instead. But now that I'm annoyed, I'll purchase a 100W charger that I can use for my work laptop and elsewhere as needed. :) They are still getting my money, but not as much. They make amazing products, but small details like this matter to me as a consumer.
