Cartier Santos Octagonal Slate Dial Automatic – Ref. 0906
Ghost-Grey Rarity with Factory-Original “Swiss” Dial (Circa 1980s–90s)

The Cartier Santos Octagonal has long stood as one of the Maison’s most distinctive reinterpretations of the Santos lineage—sharper, edgier, and unmistakably rooted in the bold design vocabulary of late-20th-century Cartier. This example, reference 0906, elevates that legacy with one of the rarest configurations the model ever received: a factory-original slate “ghost grey” dial signed simply Swiss, a detail cherished by collectors for its understated minimalism and scarcity.

Powered by the automatic Cartier calibre 076 (ETA 2671), freshly serviced and performing beautifully, this Santos Octagon offers everyday reliability wrapped in a design that is anything but ordinary. Crisp sapphire crystal, iconic screw-link bracelet, and sapphire cabochon crown complete a watch that reads effortlessly cool—stealthy, architectural, and quietly luxurious.

Case – Octagonal Architecture, Pure Cartier Identity

The steel case embraces the Santos DNA while carving its own geometric path—an assertive octagonal form softened by polished bevels and the familiar brushed surfaces. It wears compact yet purposeful, with proportions that feel modern despite the watch’s vintage era.

The original sapphire cabochon crown adds the expected touch of Cartier elegance, while the sapphire crystal remains flawless, offering perfect clarity over the dial. Paired with the integrated steel bracelet featuring the iconic exposed screws, the watch exudes that unmistakable Cartier industrial chic.

Dial – Rare Ghost Grey with “Swiss” Signature

The star of this reference is the dial: a slate-toned, ghost-grey surface that shifts subtly with the light, giving the watch a moody sophistication few vintage Santos models can match. This is a factory-original, untouched dial—no refinish, no retouching—signed only “Swiss,” a minimalist, highly sought-after marking that further underscores its rarity.

Steel hands and a central running seconds maintain the clean, monochromatic theme, letting the dial’s unique tone speak without distraction. Collectors know how seldom these ghost dials appear, especially in such well-preserved condition.

Movement – Cartier Calibre 076 (ETA 2671) Automatic

Inside beats the dependable automatic calibre Cartier 076, based on the ETA 2671—an efficient and serviceable movement known for its robustness. This example has been recently serviced and is running excellently, making it an ideal daily-wear vintage Cartier for those who value both form and function.

Bracelet – Iconic Steel with Screw Motif

The original steel bracelet, complete with Cartier’s signature screw detailing, retains its crisp geometry and comfortable articulation. It will fit wrists up to approximately 17cm+, maintaining the integrated aesthetic that defines the Santos family.

Great Way to Teach Manners and Appropriate Behavior
Format: Paperback
When I read this book, I found myself nodding my head so much and lovind the lessons taught. There is a story about the little pig who said "I won't" whenever his mom asked him for help. Then he learns he is missing out by always not wanting to help when his brother "I will" gets to have a fun day at the dock. Sweet little stories about how to act appropriately when you are a guest and how to treat others. It is just darling. My daughter LOVES it because she watches the Richard Scary cartoons on Saturday about solving mysteries. She keeps asking me to read this book to her. I love being able to teach these lessons through this darling book. Highly recommended. :)

My 2 yr old son LOVES this book
Format: Paperback
I bought this for my son to introduce him to saying please and thank you in a manner that wasn't me (his mom) or his dad constantly asking him to say it. Now he reads through this book at least once a day (he has for the past 3 months that we've had this book), and he recites to me all the things that you should do and all the things that you shouldn't do. He points out who is good and who is bad in the book. And when he acts up all I have to say to him is "does Lowly worm (or whoever I can remember) do that in the book? Is he rude?" and instantly he is reminded to not act a certain way. It's much more effective than me asking him to stop. This is a book that should be in every child's library. I read the "top" review here, whatever that means, where the reviewer stated they didst' like the book because it was too negative. That review reeks of a nanny parent; please get over yourself. Give me a break - you are and adult and a parent, you are not your child's friend and a healthy dose of Vitamin NO is exactly what every 2 yr old needs. Highly highly highly recommend for all parents of very young children.

Good manners book
Format: Paperback
Good anecdotes and lessons in this book. I wanted to get a book to read to my 4 year old. This book keeps her attention and she likes it. This book talks about many subjects: Proper etiquette for please, thank you, your welcome, being a good guest, helping out with parents, friends, teachers and neighbors, etc. It feels a little long and a lot foing on with each page, but overall a good quality book. Would buy again.

Fun Lessons
Format: Paperback
You can never go wrong with reading a Richard Scarry book. This book teaches manners to young children very well. My young granddaughter has started speaking in complete sentences, and she is using please and thank you. This book is a good introduction for using these words.

Fun way to learn good behavior!
Format: Paperback
Good value for the price, you get 7 short stories with this book & the illustrations are very well done. If your child's attention span can't handle the entire book you can still manage a few. Lots of funny action pictures to hold their interest, my 4 1/2 yr old son flips through the book on his own just to look at the pictures and they are descriptive enough to follow the story without reading the words. It's a favorite book to listen to because he is of age to get in trouble and to be held accountable, so he likes to see that he is not the only one. His favorite story is Pig Will and Pig Won't. Hint: Say "I won't" with an angry piggy snort! This cracks kids up, they will anticipate the words and snort along with you "I won't"! Sometimes works to change a defiant or lazy mood when I ask him to do something, I will ask "is my D. a pig will or pig won't today?".. helps to snort a little! Can't overuse it though..
