Once upon a time, there was a man and a woman in a Garden. And then suddenly, a serpent.

Look Inside the Book

Prepare to see the Garden of Eden as you always wished you could - tangible, leaves rustling, the scent of fruit on the breeze. This beautiful and imaginative children's book brings the story of our parents' fall to life and points to the work of Jesus Christ, the greater Adam.

This retelling by children's author N.D. Wilson and illustrator Peter Bentley looks at the story of our first parents with wild realism, but also with a childlike honesty and clarity that bring new depth to an old truth. Books in The Old Stories series are designed to help children (and adults) reimagine biblical stories, seeing things they have never seen before. Ages 4 and up.

What People Are Saying:

"Bentley’s illustrations add much to this picture book and are in keeping with Wilson’s Medieval retelling. Imaginative and colorful, they picture a rich, vibrant garden. They also point to Christ, the Great King who would remake the world…and undo all the evil that Adam and Eve had done." -Betsy, The Redeemed Reader

READER REVIEWS:

"This is an incredible, reformed, refreshing telling of the fall and promise of the coming of the Messiah. The artistic nature of the book is beautiful while not sacrificing clear, solid theology. My three boys love this book being read to them and just flipping through the pages looking at the vibrant illustrations. Thank you N.D. Wilson!" -James

"My two year old LOVES this book." -Rita

Great Book.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.

Format: Paperback
Excellent articulation of the Black Power initiative within the Civil Rights Movement. A detailed view of Black Power, it's objectives, how these would be achieved, as well as it's misinterpretations. An afterword from each author appended in 1992 provides insight, reflection, and perspective on all that's changed, and what hasn't, since the book's publishing.

Format: Mass Market Paperback
Any book with the name Stokely Carmichael is a rare find. You can easily find the same book with Kwame Ture as the author since he changed his name and so later editions reflects the name change. Kwame Ture (fka Stokely Carmichael) changed his name for a reason. However, those of us from the sixties can never forget him nor the name Stokely Carmichael.
