Inspiration: Pope Saint John Paul II was a life-long outdoorsman. As a parish priest, Karol Wojtyla was known for taking young people on hiking retreats, and for his love of kayaking and skiing. He once told a journalist, “I wish I could be out there somewhere in the mountains, racing down into a valley. It’s an extraordinary sensation.”
