Very interesting indeed, this rum is a tribute to the rum producing industries of two cultures, a hemisphere apart: The West Indies (the Caribbean) and The East Indies (India). Particularly, this rum sources spirit from Barbados, Guyana & Jamaica. This rum is made from Jaggery, a traditional sort of sugar produced in India from dates, cane juice or palm sugar. On the nose this rum is rich with fresh, slightly grassy cane notes, with a deep woodspice aroma and tropical fruit, particularly pineapple and overripe banana. The palate is thick and creamy, with juicy flavours of pineapple and mango, and touch of dusty oak. The finish is sweet, long and oaky, with a touch of spice. A very different, delicious rum.
