The Canon EOS M2 is a compact mirrorless camera built around an 18.0 MP APS-C CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC 5 image processor, delivering high image resolution and fine color gradation. It employs the Canon EF-M lens mount, fully compatible with EF and EF-S lenses via adapter, offering broad optical versatility.
The camera features a Hybrid CMOS AF II system, integrating phase-detection and contrast-detection autofocus for increased focusing speed and accuracy. It supports continuous shooting at 4.6 fps and an ISO range of 100–12800 (expandable to 25600), maintaining image quality across various lighting conditions.
The 3.0-inch 1.04M-dot capacitive touchscreen allows direct control over focus, menus, and playback, enhancing operational efficiency. The EOS M2 records Full HD 1080p video at 30/25/24 fps, with full manual exposure control and stereo sound. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity enables image transfer and remote camera control via compatible devices.
Constructed with a magnesium alloy chassis, the body maintains a lightweight and rigid design, offering DSLR-level image performance in a compact form factor.
