For years, Gioia Timpanelli has held audiences rapt with her retellings of ancient tales, often appearing with Robert Bly, James Hillman, Joseph Campbell, and Gary Snyder. Here, in fiction full of warmth and resonances--characters we can't help but recognize, prose and imagery that play on the strings of the soul--Timpanelli draws on her deep knowledge of these old stories and their wisdoms to create a new and refreshing kind of storytelling, with hints of both Italo Calvino and Angela Carter. In "A Knot of Tears," a woman's locked-up life is transformed by a parrot who tells tales; her story becomes a subtle and surprising meditation on the necessity of being true to oneself and others. In "Rusina, Not Quite in Love," a strange and lovely retelling of the story of the Beauty and the Beast, a young woman escapes family and society--especially the grasp of her superficial and beastly sisters--to find consolation and beauty in nature and its muse. In each case, women of very different backgrounds--one aristocratic, one impoverished--find solitary spaces from which they can emerge as artists and shapers of their own destinies. With a sense of character unusual in contemporary fiction (not mere personality, but moral character) and a gentle, lyric touch, Timpanelli blends the seeming simplicity of folktale with a richly textured understanding of human nature. With great integrity and affection for language, her work teaches about love and solitude, honesty and art.Binding Type: Paperback

Great addition to the Kitchen - Not just for coffee!
Color: Black
works great for my morning coffee and can also make whip cream for those special treats!!! Cleans up easily. The recharging and attachment holder is great so you are not hunting for the attachment you need for the job.
This has been a great product and completes the task at hand very well. It has the 3 power selections for different jobs. The attachment and the base are built well and very stable.
I would order again (if need be) and I would also give a gift!

Powerful vortex of blending…
Color: Black
Too powerful!! I use a handheld frother for mixing coffee/lattes, and when my last one died, I read extensive reviews to find a new one. I liked that this one had a stand, and three speed settings seemed like plenty; unfortunately, this frother is unusable even at the lowest speed for mugs that are more than 50% full, my goodness - it created a coffee vortex with walls so high it looked like a massacre within seconds. We’re absolutely keeping it, now my husband can make whipped cream in seconds, but now I’m shopping for a weaker version, and we’ll be a two-frother household.

Love the charging stand!
Color: Black
Love that this comes on a stand instead for charging of that wobbly wire stand.
Very powerful so be careful when you’re stirring your coffee. Use it on low and keep it on the bottom of the cup.
So far it works great I bought an extra for a family member.

Works great!
Color: Black
This rechargeable milk frother works really well. I love that it comes with three detachable stainless steel whisks — it makes it easy to switch between frothing milk, mixing drinks, or lightly whisking other ingredients. The three speed settings are great depending on what you’re making, and it has plenty of power without being too noisy. The rechargeable feature is a big plus since I don’t have to keep replacing batteries and it works for many mixes before having to charge it. It’s comfortable to hold, easy to clean, and works quickly. Overall, it’s a great little kitchen tool and feels well made. I did unfortunately put the handle in my sink and it got too wet (not submerged) and did not work and I had to order another one. So be careful not to get the handle too wet.
