OPTIS (Odyssey Pneumatic Tire Insert System) is a lightweight, highly tunable, high-efficiency, tubeless tire insert. Tire assemblies are one of the most important performance factors for any bike. They provide all the grip to the ground, they serve as a critical first element of the bike’s suspension and they provide essential support to the cornering forces that the bike encounters. OPTIS separates the function of the bikeʼs grip from its suspension and stability by turning the tire into a two-chamber system. This allows for lower tire pressures while the insert is inflated to a higher pressure than the tire, keeping the tire supported while allowing the main volume to be at a lower pressure that provides optimum grip.
  • Riders can separately tune the tire's grip and internal support through a dual-valve design, allowing for lower tire pressures and ride characteristics that would not be possible with a traditional tubeless or foam insert set-up
  • Instead of forming to the internal tire casing like an ordinary inner tube, OPTIS cinches down against the tire bead and hugs the rim when inflated. This creates a bead lock that prevents burping, protects the rim from impacts and offers a limited amount of run-flat protection when the tire is damaged or punctured
  • OPTIS reduces rolling resistance by facilitating the use of lower pressures and lighter tires. Rolling efficiency is greatly improved on rough surfaces without the hysteresis losses often associated with foam inserts
  • OPTIS is lightweight, adding less than 90g per wheel to an ordinary tubeless set-up and provides greater protection than traditional inserts that are much heavier
  • Valve is constructed from Aluminum, Insert is made from Nylon and TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)
  • Designed to fit rims with 28 – 40mm internal width, at a maximum inflation of 50psi

Like the other one (Vol 1) but different (Vol 2) with more.
Format: Paperback
Volume 2 continues the great color combinations of the 1st Volume, but the combinations are more complex, with more colors. There's even a section of art in the form of paintings, prints, woven work, etc. that you see on one page while on the opposite page is the breakdown of the colorations in bars with no image. What this does is show how the art works, and then how the combinations also work. Also more of the simplified 2 and 3 combinations that I think I prefer as more minimal. Again, these are ranged from light and airy to darkly saturated -and all curiously satisfying and worth study and trying them out. On the computer it's possible to match any tone or hue, so there's a path that only requires finding the right starting color then paying attention to the combination. Not that it's an end-all, but a beginning. Any of those can be shifted or modified with ease but it depends on how they fit a real-time application and not a formula. But the horizons have already been expanded so there's more, and even more.

Great book to help establish a palette for a software, web or art project
Format: Paperback
I love this book for helping me establish a color palette for art projects that I want a Japanese feel to. Also just generally good for getting inspiration for color palettes that just plain look good. I've always, since I can remember from my youth, felt drawn to the Japanese color combinations in kimono. fashion, origami paper and even toys. Maybe it's a consequence of growing up in Hawaii with all the Japanese influences I had -- or, as I suspect, it's just really good color application. This book helps me find the colors I want that go together the way I want. I use the examples in this book with a Color Muse to pick my digital color palette.

Terrific content, soft cover.
Format: Paperback
It is way smaller than expected but it is amazing in content. The only think I do not like is that it has an extremely soft external cover, which worries me on the long run.
