The cable is braided for durability and supports fast charging on the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros with an Apple M1 Pro or M1 Max chip, if connected to a 67W, 96W, and 140W USB-C Power Adapter. The MacBook Air with Apple M2 chip will need a 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter. The MacSafe 3 connector is thinner and wider than MagSafe 2 and is not believed to be backwards compatible.
