Beginning with a trace of uncontrollable laughter that shifts into the driving atmosphere and unfolding elation of opening track "Hint and Omens," Continuous Portrait is an album of strange hypnosis, punctuated by songs that venture quite far from the respective oeuvres of Cooper and Smith. The spry, playful layers of "Calico" bounce against a steady thrum of rhythms and samples from everyday noises, while the dancing lightness of "Outlook for the Future" is met with a storm of emotional resonance. Both tracks emerge as distinctively different directions for Inventions, and it is that very sense of exploration, pleasure, and ceremonial melancholia which informs the entire album from front to back. Must have prior knowlege

After reading the reviews, it seemed like this was the perfect book to start learning about software engineering. Unfortunately, it is not. it assumes some program knowledge. I downloaded and installed Visual Studio Code, Ubuntu, and Docker Desktop. On page 22, it says to use the docker build command. I did, and I got a file or folder not found error. I've spent 4 hours searching the internet for an answer to this. I cant find it. This book is supposed to be written for absolute beginners. Apparently, it is not, as I, a beginner, am stuck 22 pages into it...

I feel ashamed holding this book in my hand wherever I go. I use a bag now to hide it. This is true that coding is on computer, but when you memorize the basics you waste less time googling.

Another quality Quick Start book
Format: Paperback
Haven't gotten that far into the book yet, but so far the material is good.
IMO, the book would be far better if it had a spiral binding like the Python Quick Start books I bought. Programming type books are much easier and better to use when they lay flat.
This would probably make the book more expensive to purchase, but would be well worth it.
The contents of the book are well laid out starting with simple basic topics and progressing through the more advanced ones. The chapters on Asynchronous JavaScript and JQuery were, IMHO, light in the amount of information provided. The book is designed/written to provide a "quick start" on JS, but I think that there could have been more details provided for these two topics.
All in all this book provides an adequate introduction to doing JS coding.
Any plans on doing an advanced Javascript book to cover topics like map and other advanced programming constructs?
