Its 75mm gun and reliable running gear made it a significant improvement over what the Allies had previously fielded, and it began the long Sherman production
The Tamiya 1/48 U.S. M4 Sherman Early Production (32505) reproduces the original production M4 Sherman in the compact 1/48 scale. The early M4 with its welded hull and distinct sharp-angled front plate was the first Sherman to see combat, entering service in time for El Alamein in October 1942. Its 75mm gun and reliable running gear made it a significant improvement over what the Allies had previously fielded, and it began the long Sherman production run that would ultimately deliver over 50,000 tanks.
