When you cut into the present the future leaks out. -William Burroughs On their third album in as many years, following 2013's Edvard Lygre Moster (HUBRO 2527CD/3527LP) and 2014's Inner Earth (HUBRO 2548CD/3548LP), saxophonist Kjetil Moster's band Moster! Take another leap forward and appear even closer, more unified, and better synchronized than ever. This album was recorded during a break in an extensive tour on a shared bill with the Norwegian-American band The Young Mothers. On Inner Earth, the band took a step in the direction of prog rock, and slowly and very patiently built up to an enormous climax. On When You Cut Into the Present, this gradual build-up has been replaced with a more direct and confrontationally effective style. Prog rock, psychedelia, and John Coltrane's jazz are obviously still sources of inspiration for the band, but this time they share space with everyone from King Crimson in their Red period to Alice Coltrane and Can. The music has also incorporated references from the originators of the Nordic jazz sound of the 1960s and '70s such as Jan Garbarek, Terje Rypdal, Arild Andersen, and Jon Christensen. From the very beginning, the musicians hit the floor running, propelling themselves toward ecstasy with constant sonic excesses and grooving with marathon-like stamina. The result is a catchy, addictive, and consistently creative eruption. Saxophonist Kjetil Moster is apparently everywhere all the time. He plays in a number of jazz and improvisational bands, but also performs regularly with Royksopp & Robyn, Datarock, King Midas, and Lars Vaular. Since recording Inner Earth he has also released an album with the Hungarian trio Ju and launched a concert collaboration with Chicago musicians Jeff Parker and John Herndon (Tortoise) and Joshua Abrams (Natural Information Society). In addition to Kjetil Moster himself, Moster! #consists of the same musicians as on the previous album: the legendary Hans Magnus Snah Ryan, guitarist and vocalist in Motorpsycho; Nikolai Haengsle Eilertsen, bass player in Elephant9 and BigBang; and the ubiquitous drummer Kenneth Kapstad, also from Motorpsycho and Monolithic. When You Cut Into the Present was recorded at Ora Studio in Trondheim with technician Jo Ranheim. It was mixed by Christian Engfelt, Kjetil Moster, and Nikolai Haengsle Eilertsen at Engfelt & Forsgren Studio in Oslo, and mastered by Jorgen Traeen at Grotten in the Bergen Kjott building.

Super cute, comfortable, practical, love that they are slip on
Size: 10.5, Color: Tobacco/Black
I have worn these 2-3 times already. The first day was a school/work day so I was on my feet 9 hours and the only issue I had was with the side of the boot rubbing against my ankle. I just make sure I wear socks high enough to cover my ankles or jeans that go into the boots now for long wear days.
Absolutely love them! They keep my feet dry in this snow( we live in Michigan). I had been looking for a pair like this for awhile now and was getting super frustrated that I couldn't find my size in any that I liked. I saw that they had these available in a 10.5 and I wear 11. I looked at the Sorel website reviews (since the amazon ones weren't super helpful on sizing) and they said that the boots ran big so I took a chance on the 10.5 fitting me. They fit perfect. I have long narrow feet but I could see where they would be tight or uncomfortable on someone with wider feet. I've been trying to find a pair for my mom now since she has boot envy.

Fantastic Boots!
Size: 8.5, Color: Redwood/Gum 10
Completely satisfied with these boots. True to size, well made, comfortable from the get-go; not break in needed. Waterproof- really. The Red Suede has withstood a nasty winter season & still looks great. Good traction. I like the ankle height which looks good with long, mid length pants & leggings. I love the easy slip on/off aspect..made getting ready for dog walking easy. I 100%recommend!

Definitely worth the price
Size: 6.5, Color: Black/Black
Absolutely love these boots! I originally bought them to wear in NYC in December & they did not disappoint. They were comfortable, cute, durable and worked well in the slush/snow. The traction on the bottom is also nice! They kept me warm with wool socks. I wear them almost daily now. Perfect for everyday. easy to wear with variety of outfits. Good every day shoe.

Snagged a deal
Size: 7, Color: Redwood/Gum 10
I waited and waited to get these boots! I knew I was chancing it, but they went on sale, and I snagged them! I am a size 7, and they fit nicely with socks. a little loose, barefooted, but what psycho wears boots without socks? They are comfortable and really well-made.
