The Libec EX-530DV is a professional-grade extension zoom cable designed to bridge the distance between a tripod pan-handle remote controller and a compact camera utilizing LANC or Panasonic remote protocols. It provides a generous physical reach, making it essential for complex setups like production jibs, studio cranes, elevated tripods, or remote camera configurations.

Core Features & Practical Utility

  • Universal Prosumer Interface: The cable features standard 2.5mm mini-jack connectors on both ends. This layout is standard for sub-mini remote ports found on a wide range of compact cinema cameras, camcorders, and mirrorless rigs.

  • Dual-Protocol Compatibility: It serves as a lossless data extension for universal controllers like the Libec ZC-3DV or the Libec ZFC-5HD (zoom/focus remote). This configuration lets the operator switch seamlessly between Sony/Canon LANC protocols and Panasonic control standards over the same long physical cable run.

  • Shielded Signal Path: The internal wiring is insulated against radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). This heavy shielding prevents data delay, stuttering commands, or sudden signal drops when routing the cable alongside high-voltage studio power leads.

Hardware Technical Specifications Matrix:

Parameter Libec EX-530DV Specifications
Model EX-530DV
Total Cable Run Length 17.5 feet or 5.3 meters
Connector Standard 2.5mm Sub-Mini Stereo Plug (Male to Female)
Supported Protocols LANC (Sony / Canon) & Panasonic Remote Zoom Commands
Jacket Material High-flexibility vulcanized industrial PVC

Operational System Tips for the EX-530DV:

💡 The Jib Pivot Loop: When running this 5.3-meter extension cable along a production crane like the Libec Swift Jib50, never pull the wire taut across the moving structural joints. Always anchor the cable securely to the frame using touch-fastener straps while leaving a generous loose loop directly over the central fulcrum and front tilt hinges. If the line is strapped completely flat, pitching the crane up or down will pull the cable tight, straining the camera's delicate 2.5mm input socket or ripping the plug loose mid-take.

  • Mode Switch Verification: The EX-530DV simply extends the electronic signal pass-through. If you switch from a Sony camera to a Panasonic camera body and notice the zoom control is unresponsive, confirm that the physical selector toggle on the side of your attached ZC-3DV or ZFC-5HD controller block is clicked over to match the correct camera brand.

Comfortable casual shorts for summer wear.
Size: Large, Color: Dark Grey
The twill chino style looks a little nicer than basic athletic shorts, and the drawstring waist keeps them easy to wear.

Slightly shiny material with a non neutral khaki color
Size: Large, Color: Khaki
I ordered these for my husband as nice looking shorts that would be casual and comfy. The Large fit his 35" waist ok, a slightly baggy around the crotch. The material is lightweight and they are decent quality for the price. We were both not a fan of the slightly shiny sheen of the material and the khaki color is not a neutral khaki, it is more peach or coral undertoned. He was wearing a garment washed coral pink tone T-shirt when he tried these on and it clashed horribly. Might have looked better with a black or dark shirt but just not an easy khaki that goes with everything unfortunately. Because of the sheen and color he probably won't wear them and we will just donate.

Order larger than they suggest.
Size: XX-Large, Color: Black
Do not listen to size suggestions. These are sized in China. Everything runs much smaller than what they are claiming. Amazons suggestions do not take this into account. They also don't feel like twill, maybe some kind of nylon woven like twill? Not sure.
