Evanescence are returning with 'Synthesis,' their fourth and most ambitious album to date! The album features a reworking of some of Evanescence's best-loved songs recorded with a full orchestra and electronica combined with the band and Amy Lee's virtuoso piano and voice. Evanescence - lead singer-songwriter and pianist Amy Lee, bassist Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Troy McLawhorn and guitarist Jen Majura worked with producers Will Hunt and orchestra arranger and composer David Campbell on 'Synthesis' which will also feature two new Evanescence songs, the first of which is entitled "Imperfection. " The album includes guest performance by famed violinist Lindsey Stirling on "Hi-Lo" the other new song on the album. "This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars," explains Amy Lee of Evanescence. "I've always wanted to shine a light on some of the gorgeous David Campbell arrangements and programming elements in our songs, and that idea snowballed into completely re-doing them with full orchestra, not just strings, elaborate programming and experimentation. This will be our first time touring with orchestra and I'm so excited to perform this way-really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we've built over the years. I'm also really excited about the new material on the album. Besides the two new songs, there are some really beautiful instrumental in-between moments. The whole thing flows like a big, dynamic soundtrack. - Synthesis by Evanescence

Interesting Follow Up to the 80/20 Principle
Format: Paperback
If you enjoyed the 80/20 Principle this is a good guide to applying it in your life. He does make some bold predictions like highly competent individuals will soon make public corporations obsolete. Some of this book is highly speculative and other parts are very practical. Luckily it is pretty easy to tell which is which. Very interesting book.

A Few Gems, but Not the Right Fit for Me
Format: Kindle
This book focuses on the 80/20 principle, emphasizing the importance of identifying and maximizing the 20% of activities that yield the greatest results. While it offers valuable insights on growth, creativity, and leveraging strengths, it didn’t resonate with me personally, and I found the reading experience less enjoyable. Key Takeaways: • Growth requires creating something new and meaningful, not maintaining the status quo. • Focus on your “20% spike”—your unique strengths—and develop them like an athlete. • Use the 80/20 principle to identify the most profitable parts of a business. Overall, the ideas are useful, but the book didn’t fully capture my interest or provide practical applications I could relate to.
