The Hollyland Syscom 421 Single TX is a standalone, production-grade wireless video transmitter designed for multi-camera live broadcasts, commercial sets, and large-scale studio environments.

Available as an individual expansion component, this transmitter is built exclusively to pair with Hollyland’s flagship Syscom 421 / 421S multi-cam base receiver systems. It allows production crews to scale up their wireless camera footprint seamlessly. The unique architecture of the Syscom 421 platform allows up to four independent transmitters to communicate over the exact same RF channel simultaneously, drastically optimizing wireless bandwidth and preventing the signal congestion common to multi-camera shoots.

Key Broadcast & Data Engineering Features

  • Advanced Bandwidth Optimization: Traditional setups require a separate wireless channel for every single camera, which quickly clogs up local airwaves. The Syscom 421 platform allows you to stack up to four of these transmitters onto a single RF frequency lane without causing crosstalk, signal degradation, or frame drops.

  • Dual Interface Hardware (3G-SDI + HDMI): Universally cross-compatible with professional broadcast rigs, field switchers, and mirrorless setups. The side panel houses one full-sized HDMI input alongside a rugged BNC 3G-SDI input. It natively transmits zero-compression video signals up to 1080p at 60fps.

  • Integrated PTZ Control Pass-Through: Features an industrial RS-485 / RS-422 serial interface port alongside an RJ45 Ethernet LAN port. This enables bidirectional data transmission, letting technical directors send remote PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) joystick commands or camera IP control data from the switcher tent directly to a robotic camera rig over a massive distance.

  • Wired Ethernet RTSP Pass-Through: The built-in network terminal supports local IP pass-through. It allows you to execute direct RTSP network pull and push streams across the local network backend—perfect for quick live-streaming applications or remote monitoring setups.

  • Hardware Wireless Tally Output: Features a dedicated 3-segment 3.5mm TALLY interface port. When connected to the base switcher, it drives a physical camera tally light to visually notify on-camera talent and operators which camera angle is currently "live" or "cued."

Power Infrastructure & Rigging Safety

The unit is housed in a rugged, heat-dissipating aluminum alloy frame and is engineered for continuous broadcast reliability. It features a dual-power design: a rear-mounted Sony NP-F (L-series) battery slot for handheld or roving setups, and a lockable 2-Pin LEMO barrel input supporting a wide input range (7V to 36V). This allows it to safely draw continuous power from a cinema camera's V-mount or Gold-mount battery D-Tap distributor block.

The bottom and side panels feature separate reinforced 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 female mounting threads. This ensures stable attachment to articulated magic arms, directors' cages, and heavy production camera top-plates without twisting or working loose during rapid pans.

⚠️ System Compatibility Boundary: This standalone transmitter does not include a wireless receiver in the box and cannot link to standard consumer-grade Hollyland Mars or Pyro receivers. It is purpose-built strictly to pair with the multi-channel Syscom 421 / 421S Receiver Base Hub. Up to four of these transmitters can sync to a single hub to deliver clean multi-cam monitoring straight to your main production video switcher.

Good points, but too verbose and in the clouds at times.
Format: Kindle
This book has great points and analysis of trends, and a sensible outlook of what they might lead to. If you already understand the main ideas in this book, it's a good refresher and will solidify your current understanding, but may not really lead to any new "mindblowing" revelations. At times, his head is too in the clouds, and his age shows with predictions that read like bad 1960s sci-fi with things like "computorium" "gray goo" and "nanobots". While his overall points stand strong, some specific technologies he thinks will take off don't seem to have any basis or proof of concept in the real world and might be dead in the water, think "solar freakin roadways" style. He is also very full of himself, repeatedly gloating to the reader of all the "predictions" he made over the years that came true. The biggest weakness of this book is by god does he need an editor, it is way too verbose because the information is not organized well and he repeats himself A LOT. The chapters read like independent blog posts rather than a book due to how repetitive some of his points and information is. Often factoids and paragraphs are bizarrely repeated nearly verbatim pages later. But overall, it's a solid read and those uninitiated to the ideas in this book should absolutely heed their importance.

Audiobook has TERRIBLE narrator; book is very techical
Format: Hardcover
So this is a fascinating book -- the author has an incredible depth and breadth of knowledge in a vast array of technical (and medical) subjects. Note this is a much more technical book than your typical science book intended for the educated layperson. That's a big plus for me, but others might be put off by the level of detail. The main fault with the book is the audiobook's narrator, Adam Barr. He has a deep voice that is easy to understand, but he is just about as dull as can be, sounding as if he's reading the ingredients on a can of soup. I ended up buying the hardcover version of the book because the audiobook could not hold my attention -- because of the narrator, not because of the content, which is amazing. I wish more narrators would take a page (ha ha) from talented pros such as Ray Porter and Wil Wheaton. Just because this book is nonfiction doesn't mean it can't be read with heart, as if the reader was speaking to me personally, with enthusiasm, and not just reading words out loud.

The Final Warning
Format: Kindle
No more heads up after this one guys. Ray is not known for missing futurological insights. He’s placed many predictions within this work and it’s my belief that they will occur even sooner than he imagines. That said, the time for comfort with our current way of living is over, and this book functions as the last glance of insight to carry you through with knowledge of what could be. Without it, you are very likely to be entirely blindsighted. The world is changing much faster than the vast majority of people realize. Even those paying close attention to technology. Learn what you can do you can prepare. This book is likely the best way to get ahead of the curve, and adds many new concepts and refinement than the first in the series
