Besides attending to the many daily activities at their horse ranch, the couple finds time to care for men and women in recovery at Serenity House. They live full lives as contributing members of The Gathering and Celebrate Recover meetings where brothers and sisters assemble on the ranch each week.

In the Fall, Live Oak Ranch and Serenity House hosts an Autumn Leaves Festival. Folks from all over Franklin County and the Gulf Coast attend the festive annual event. In the Fall of 2001, Jill introduces Meemaw, NoeÕs deceased grandmother, to the attendees, by telling humorous stories around a blazing bonfire from MemawÕs diary. Attendees learn that she is quit a character!
But in the midst of the autumn celebration, terrorists attack American. The Live Oak Ranch community, and American, set aside their many differences and united as Òone nation under GodÓ to consul one another and confront the forces of evil that seek to destroy Democracy and our American ways. Americans find serenity in the midst of tragedy.
