A glossy teal glaze with black specks that transforms during firing into striking raised beads of varying form and size. These organic, unpredictable patterns create a highly tactile surface with unique visual depth on every piece.

Bring ceramic surfaces to life with AMACO Crawls - unique, spontaneous patterns every time! Crawling occurs when the glaze pulls back from the surface during firing, creating a textured, uneven finish that reveals the underlying clay body. These glazes can be used by themselves or layered over underglazes or other cone 5/6 glazes for dynamic effects.

Application:

Apply 1-4 even coats to bisque, allowing each coat to dry almost fully before significant cracking occurs. Crawl glazes naturally develop fine cracks as they dry, so handle with care. For added durability before firing, apply over an AMACO Celadon glaze or underglaze.

A heavier application will produces larger glaze beads and a more pronounced effect, while thinner coats create a finer texture.
