先麥成立於西元1967年，為台灣芋頭酥創始店；於西元1998年選用大甲檳榔心芋在地食材，創作發明台灣第一顆芋頭酥。
以烘培取代油炸，紮實的內餡與新鮮的口感，不僅讓「先麥芋頭酥」的美名享譽台灣，更提高台中在地芋農的經濟收益；因外型酷似含苞待放的玫瑰花，故有「紫色玫瑰」的盛名。
先麥島嶼經典系列 榮獲2020年德國IF設計大獎（IF Design Award 2020)。
德國I F設計奬為全球公認表彰優良設計的標誌，它與紅點設計大獎、美國 IDEA獎並稱為「世界3大設計獎」。
先麥獲獎的島嶼經典系列，選用在地食材並關懷台灣特有物種生態，從食材到包裝設計都是滿滿的台灣味。這次，先麥食品不再只著眼於開發新口味，禮盒圖案選用臺灣特有物種生態，強調台灣人文和文化環境的概念，
我們推出了兩種以台灣特有物種為主題的獨家禮盒設計，代表台灣意象的全新包裝。一個是台灣 南台灣[梅花鹿ｘ恆春馬兜鈴](Formosan Sika DeerｘAristolochia Zollingeriana)；另一個是台灣 西海岸[白海豚ｘ瓊崖海棠] (Sousa Chinensis TaiwanensisｘAlexandrian Laurel)，我們希望結合獨特的包裝元素，不僅可以提醒人們探索美麗的島嶼台灣， 而且可以讓人類與環境之間的理解更加深刻。
關懷台灣特有物種生態~島嶼經典白海豚系列藝術設計:白海豚的皮膚為什麼是粉紅色?
中華白海豚屬恆溫哺乳動物，用肺呼吸，當白海豚在海面上移動的時候，為了更好的散熱，皮下的毛細血管就會出現充血的情況，所以外表的皮膚變成粉紅色。
