Frequently Asked Questions

What does "low-profile contour panel" and "less headroom" mean?

Traditional flat-panel drainable pouches have uniform depth from top to bottom. The SUR-FIT Natura contour panel is shaped to follow the natural curve of the body — narrower near the stoma and wider toward the bottom where output collects. This distributes the pouch contents downward and away from the stoma area, reducing the tendency for air and output to accumulate near the barrier (called "headroom"). Less headroom means a lower, flatter profile against the body and reduced ballooning near the stoma site — a meaningful comfort and discretion advantage for active patients.

This pouch has no filter — will that be a problem?

The filter is not included in this pouch. Some patients prefer filterless pouches because filters can become wet (which deactivates them during bathing or swimming) or can allow odor to escape unevenly. Without a filter, gas will need to be manually vented by briefly opening the tail clip. If you prefer a pouch with a built-in filter, ConvaTec offers SUR-FIT Natura drainable pouches with filter as an alternative. Call us at 866-218-0902 for help selecting the right configuration.

What is the difference between the 10/pack and 20/pack SKUs?

The product is identical — same pouch, same flange, same film. The 20/pack opaque value packs (SKU 404014–404018) are simply higher-quantity boxes at a better per-unit price. The 10/pack SKUs (both transparent and opaque) are standard quantity. Transparent is only available in 10/pack. If you have confirmed your size and use this pouch regularly, the 20/pack opaque versions offer the best value.

How do I use the tail clip closure?

Before wearing, fold the bottom of the pouch over the tail clip once — only once. Press firmly on the center of the clip until it snaps securely closed. To empty, open the clip, allow contents to drain, wipe the outlet, then refold and reclip. Two tail clips are included per box. Inspect clips periodically — replace if cracked or not snapping securely.

Is this pouch for colostomy, ileostomy, or both?

This pouch is appropriate for both colostomy and ileostomy patients who use the SUR-FIT Natura two-piece system. The correct skin barrier formula for your stoma type matters more than the pouch itself — Stomahesive barriers are typically used for formed colostomy output and Durahesive barriers for liquid ileostomy output. Amazing - Stop Scrolling and Buy This Pillow

I have been an Amazon customer ever since the very beginning, and this is my first review. Not because I haven’t purchased tons of amazing things (and a few bad ones), just never felt the need. However, I researched pillows for longer than I care to admit, and decided on this one. I’ve had it for about six months and absolutely love it. No lie, I genuinely look forward lying my big head on it after a long day. I am a side sleeper, but flip flop all around through the night and it’s great in every position. Pros: Stays nice and cool, which is soothing regardless of the time of year. Has a sort of quilted textured pattern on the zip up cover, gives it a luxury feel, that breaths nicely even when a pillow case is added. The fill is fully adjustable to your preference. I knew it came with extra filling but was worried it would not be enough. Wrong. It was very full and I ended up taking some out until it was perfect. It comes vacuum sealed and suggests it may take some time to fully take shape. However, I found it to be about 90% almost instantly and was sleeping on it a couple hours later. There was no unpleasant scent sometimes associated with memory foam items. The foam itself is very nice, a mix of what appears to be shredded and cotton candy cloud like. Very brilliant idea, as it is somehow supportive, soft and firm all at once. The affordability of this pillow compared to some of the others in this category can’t be overstated. Oh, and the packaging was very thoughtfully and securely done. If you are like me, an over thinker, I would suggest just taking this for a spin. It’s amazing. I’m not a bot, or working for the company. I’m just truly satisfied, love this pillow, and have been sleeping great.

Got a set of these for my wife and myself as we were struggling with our old pillows. These have some really good qualities and some things we'd like to see changed. First, the good: These are look and feel like they are high quality and made with good materials. The foam itself has a very nice feel to it. We love the fact they are adjustable to add or remove foam. They come with a pretty substantial amount already in the pillow. We appreciate the CertiPur certification. Now the improvements or changes we'd like to see: The foam, while feeling great, doesn't bounce back well if you scrunch your pillows, and so every day you have to fluff and reshape the pillow, moreso than some other memory foam pillows we've owned. One side of the pillow is cooled and you can feel that even through the pillow case, and that's a great thing. However, one side is not cooled and we'd have preferred if both sides were made of the cooling material. Overall, these are good pillows and we are not disappointed with the purchase. They are not, however, our perfect pillows (which do seem hard to find), and at some point in the future will probably make their way to the guest bedroom. We would rate them as some of the better pillows we've tried and feel most people would probably like them.

I read a lot of reviews and there were a lot of complaints about the odor. Mine did smell funny when it came out of the box. I immediately threw it in the dryer with a few bounce fabric sheets came out smelling fine. Pillows are a very individual thing, but I think for 40 bucks this pillow is worth a try. I’m really enjoying mine about one of those silk pillowcases to go over it and it sleeps cool and comfortable. Best wishes in your search for the right pillow. Update: I’ve been using this pillow several months and it continues. Give me a good night rest pain-free.. well worth the money. UPDATE: I have been using this pillow for three months and it still works great. It does not flat out or get hot..
