Learners will enhance their clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills, developing deeper understanding of reflective practice and professional development within an expanded scope of practice. The qualification focuses on advanced aspects of hydrotherapy facility management, including sustainable practice models and relevant health and safety standards.
Learners will advance their knowledge of breed-specific considerations and their impact on treatment planning, clinical risk assessment, health monitoring, and emergency response. Learners will enhance their assessment and clinical reasoning capabilities, leading to more advanced application of hydrotherapy techniques. This bridging qualification enables experienced practitioners to efficiently progress to Level 4 standard while recognising their existing competencies in canine hydrotherapy.
You will spend one day per week on campus engaging with a range of classroom-based activities as well spending time in the hydrotherapy suite with canine patients in the pool and underwater treadmill. You will be required to complete coursework outside of this time and the equivalent of approximately 3 hours of online-learning activities per week.
This course aims to build upon practitioners' existing Level 3 knowledge and skills to develop advanced competencies in hydrotherapy practice.
You must be aged 18 and above and have already achieved an Ofqual-regulated Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in Canine/Small Animal/Canine Clinical Hydrotherapy.
Due to the nature of the qualification content, those undertaking the qualification must have a proficient level of spoken and written English (e.g. GCSE Grade C / Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
