Man legt eine 12-g-CO₂-Kartusche in das Magazin und füllt es mit Gummikugeln. Die Kartusche ist nicht durchstochen und kann daher bis zum Gebrauch aufbewahrt werden.

Wenn die Waffe benutzt werden soll, betätigen Sie den Schalter an der Unterseite mit einer gleichmäßigen Bewegung. Dadurch wird die Patrone durchstochen und die Waffe ist nun einsatzbereit.

Wenn eine CO₂-Kartusche längere Zeit im Magazin verbleibt, kann dies das Magazin beschädigen. Beim EQPS-Magazin passiert das nicht, da die Kartusche vor Gebrauch durchstochen wird. Nach Gebrauch wird das Magazin entleert und eine neue Kartusche für den nächsten Einsatz eingesetzt.
