There are 5 types of buildings, and each of them provides a type of resource that will allow your city to evolve from a simple settlement to the largest city in the world. If your buildings are completely enclosed from all sides, you have created a very well-planned city block. This will earn you a lot of points.

To place new buildings in your city, you also need a lot of roads. Adjacent roads allow you to place buildings further on the map. This gives you access to natural resources, which, in addition to other benefits, also provide victory points.

Just as important as the buildings are the monuments and wonder tokens. These give you a lot of victory points, but use up all your gold. Be wise in choosing where and when you place them.
