Beim Toddy-Style Sidemount System, benannt nach dem Höhlentaucher und Ausbilder Thorsten Wälde, handelt es sich um ein ganzheitliches System für das Sidemount-Tauchen. Es umfasst zum Einen die Ausrüstung, die beim Tauchen verwendet wird: Wing, Harness, Flaschenbefestigungen. Im Weiteren beschreibt es ebenfalls die gesamte Konfiguration: Schlauchführung, Bewegungsabläufe, Verwendung von zusätzlichem Equipment wie Akkutanks, Tariergasflaschen, sidemount-Rebreather etc.
- Wing und Backplates: liegen eng am Körper an, die Verwendung einer aussenliegenden Backplate sorgt auch bei Befüllung des Wings für ein flaches Seitenprofil des Tauchers (kein „Schildkrötenbuckel“). Die spezielle Geometrie des Wings sorgt bei kompakter Form für ein sehr ausgewogenes Auftriebsverhalten. Durch ein verdeckt liegendes Bungee-System wird das Wing flach am Körper gehalten. Am Gewichtssystem der inneren Backplate kann beliebiges Tariergewicht (Gurtblei) befestigt werden und ist immer gleichmäßig auf dem Rücken verteilt. Besonders bei langen Tauchgängen von mehreren Stunden ist diese Gewichtsverteilung zur Rückenentlastung wichtig. So kann sich der Taucher auch bei hohem Bedarf an Tariergewicht allein mit dem am Körper getragenen sidemount-System austarieren und benötigt nicht den Abtrieb der Tauchflaschen; dadurch können Flaschen in Notsituationen an Tauchpartner übergeben werden. Zusätzliches Equipment wie z.B. Akkutanks, Tariergasflaschen, kleine Sauerstoffflaschen für einen sidemount-Rebreather lassen sich einfach und sicher innen oder aussen am Backplate befestigen.
- Harness: stabil und einfach. Steifes Gurtband und ausschliesslich Edelstahl-Komponenten. Eine Verschraubung des Gurtbänder ermöglicht schnelles Zerlegen, Klettbandverschlüsse erlauben sekundenschnelle Größenanpassung.
- Kurzer Inflator von oben über die Schulter: dadurch bleibt die Vorderseite des Tauchers frei, einfaches Be-und Entlüften des Wings, gute Möglichkeit einen bewusstlosen Tauchpartner im Notfall zu tarieren. Die spezielle Geometrie unseres Faltenschlauchanschlusses am Wing sorgt für eine sehr sichere Position dieses kritischen Teils.

Sturdy: Westie tries to destroy it, but it has held up

Because it's not a stuffed animal toy, there is not the issue with the stuffing getting torn out. Squeakers at head and tail. Dog loves it.
Had fun lightly tying it onto fishing line, putting on the roof using the fishing pole, and yanking it off when the dog isn't expecting. He loves it and goes mad trying to, well, exterminate the varmint! Key is lightly tying to fishing line using a loop so it comes off (most of the time) when the dog shakes it violently. Short vid of how it comes off the roof. No dog in video because couldn't manage fishing pole, camera, and dog at same time. Have put it in bushes, low tree branches, flat in the yard...just start reeling in and the fun begins.

Does not swallow fur
SO CUTE! Because it is made with strong SHORT furry cloth my Schnauzer can not pull the fur out and swallow it! Great small dog toy!!

My Puppy Loves this Indestructible Dragon
Size: Large, Color: Pink, Size: Large, Color: Pink
My puppy (8 month old black lab mix) loves, loves, loves her dragon. She has had it for 2 months now. It is one of her favorites and gets daily rough play time. It's her go-to toy for fetch and tug games, as well as just general mouthy play. The squeaker gave out after about 4 weeks, but she would binge squeak for prolonged periods (kind of like chomping on gum) so it was almost a blessing when it went silent. She still chomps on it, but at least now I don't have to hear it. Other than the fact that it's a little grungy and bedraggled from so much loving, it is still in amazing shape. The seams and fur are all still intact. There are no visible holes, rips, or weak spots. I love Chew Guard Technology.
This dragon replaced her goDog Iguana (from PetSmart) that developed a tear in the fur after about 4 months of heavy use. (It was superficial, just the outer fur layer and not the innards, but we disposed of it before she could eat more fur.) She can be pretty rough on her toys and I can never predict if any given toy will last minutes or months. The goDog stuffies definitely fall into the "months" category, even with rough daily use.
Edit: The dragon lasted about 6 months of intensive, hard play before it developed a small tear in the fur. I patched it a couple times, but once my pup discovers a weak spot, it's the kiss of death for any stuffed item. We had to dispose of the dragon (so sad) to keep her from eating any more of the fur. We replaced the dragon with the goDog Chameleon, which is still going strong. I think we will go back to the dragon for our next toy because it's just so darned cute. We gave the dragon to my niece for her golden retriever puppy who is very chew-happy. That dragon is also doing well. You've just gotta love that chew-guard technology. This is one tough toy.
