Die Pedale der VOX VALVENERGY Serie sind vielseitig einsetzbare, analoge Preamps für Gitarre, die allesamt mit der neuartigen Nutube-Röhrentechnologie ausgestattet sind und somit den Sound, die Ansprache und das Spielgefühl herkömmlicher Röhrenverstärker liefern sollen. Drei Betriebsarten gestatten verschiedene Einsatzmöglichkeiten, ob als normaler Verzerrer, als Vorverstärker vor einer Endstufe oder für den Direktanschluss an Mixer oder Audio-Interfaces.
Ein cleveres Feature der Serie ist die eigens entwickelte CHANNEL SWITCH Funktion. Über diese ist es möglich, mehrere Pedale aus der VALVENERGY-Serie mithilfe eines separaten Kabels miteinander zu verbinden. Ist diese Verbindung hergestellt, werden beim Aktivieren eines VALVENERGY-Pedals alle anderen VALVENERGY-Pedale automatisch deaktiviert. Somit wird das Umschalten der Kanäle bei einem Mehrkanal-Amp simuliert und der Sound kann mit nur einem einzigen Fußtasterdruck gewechselt werden, was natürlich besonders im Live-Einsatz von großem Vorteil ist.
Das VALVENERGY CUTTING EDGE ist das High-Gain-Monster unter den Preamps der VALVENERGY Serie und liefert brachiale Sounds für donnernde Metalriffs und schreiende Leads. Das Pedal ist mit einem 3-Band EQ und einem extra "Tight"-Regler ausgestattet, mit dem sich ein definierterer Sound bei schnellen Palm-Muting-Passagen erzielen lässt.
