Last year, too, they toured numerous cities with small lights and sunny villages, bringing with them everyday annoyances, sinister footwear, and cosmic junk. Never missing were the Inca streets, a Swiss UFO esoteric, a yapping echidna, and the obligatory sofa.

In true Zappa tradition, the six musicians don't freeze in front of the dense musical scores, but breathe new life into the songs with fresh arrangements, breakneck Frankenstein-esque songwriting, and a hearty dose of joyful playing. These are great promises that the now-released live album "The Great Escape for all of You" aims to prove. With a minimally invasive mix, this is a gig for the living room. Escapism for those who stay at home. And proof that anyone with ears simply can't escape the combination of Robert Martin and FidoPlaysZappa.
