SONIC REFLEX MAST F100
LET'S TAKE OFF.
DOES A FOIL MAST ABSORB CHOP?
DOES THE PROFILE, OUTLINE, AND LEACH LINE OF A FOIL SAIL LOOK LIKE THOSE OF A STANDARD FIN SAIL?
DOES A FOIL SAIL HAVE THE SAME PRESSURE AS A FIN SAIL?
Those are just three main questions, and the answer to all of them is the same: NO.
That's why we at Point-7 decided to develop special masts to enhance the performance of our Foil-Improving sails – exclusively for those who refuse to compromise on performance.
WHY THIS FEED:
A Foil-The sail glides smoothly over the water, and the mast doesn't need the responsiveness of a slalom sail; instead, it's designed to increase the rig's stability to maintain balance on the Foil to keep.
The way a Foil-The way the sail is cut ensures that you experience almost no backhand pressure, and if the mast complements this characteristic, the sail gains a wider range.
Since the luff lengths of Foil-Since these sails differ from slalom sails, the reinforcements can follow the shape of the luff curve, thereby improving performance across different areas of the sail.
In general, a Foil-The mast in the IMCS should be stiffer to secure the sail's profile further forward and significantly reduce the pressure on the backhand. Exactly the opposite of a Fins-Sail.
COMPATIBILITY:
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU USE A FOIL MAST IN A FIN SAIL?
The profile becomes fuller at the front, shifting the pressure point further forward, which means power is taken away from the backhand. On the water, the sail then feels “sluggish” because you can no longer transfer power to the fin to accelerate. You also lose stability and wind range. The sail feels stiffer and less responsive. We advise against using a Foil-Mast in a Fins-to go sailing.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU USE A FINN MAST IN A FOIL SAIL?
The sail works well until the wind stops flowing through it properly. At that point, the backhand pressure increases and the stability of the Foils decreases. The wind range narrows at the upper end, and you lose some stability even in lighter conditions. If you don't want a special mast, you can still use it, but it's not recommended.
