Etymologie: wallisii = Gustav Wallis (*1830 in Lüneburg - †1878 in Cuenca, Ecuador) war ein
deutscher Botaniker und Sammler, der über 1000 neue Arten nach Europa gebracht hat.
Vermehrung: Meristem
Herkunft: Kolumbien
Standort: Wahrscheinlich terrestrisch. Außer dem Herkunftsland Kolumbien, lassen sich über die Orginalstandorte keine Angaben finden.
Anmerkungen: Adelonema wallisii wird meistens noch als Homalomena wallisii angeboten.Regel's Beschreibung unter diesem Namen Homalomena wallisii, Regel, wurde in demselben Jahr bereits durch Maxwell Masters bereits zu Curmeria wallisii korrigiert. Die Malayin S.Y. Wong und Tom Croat  überführten sie 2016 zu Adelonema, diese Umkombination wird in der Botanik weithin anerkannt.
Die
Art wurde durch Gustav Wallis auf seiner Kolumbienreise gefunden, nach
England geschickt und durch William Bull auf den Markt gebracht. Die Art
ist mit ihren sehr schön gefärbten, stabilen Blättern und durch ihr
kompaktes Wachstums bestens als Zimmerpflanze geeignet.
