The moment the inhabitants of this beautiful land see the flags of your Viking ship, they flee with their tails between their legs. It is now up to you to lead your Vikings. Seize the resources left behind and plunder the empty buildings, so that you can become the next jarl of the Vikings.
Do you love games that require you to play tactically as well as puzzle, such as Carcassonne or Patchwork? And can't it take too long? Then Vlooot might be right up your alley. It plays easily, but how do you puzzle your loot together so that you end up with the most points? Try it yourself!
Each player gets a number of Vikings and a tableau. When it is your turn, you place your Viking on a space of the game board adjacent to another Viking. Based on where you place him, you get 1 or more tiles. These can contain resources, but also conquered buildings, such as houses or castles. You must place these tiles directly on your tableau. Furthermore, you may take a ship each turn. You must also place this on your tableau.
Why is it important where you place tiles on your tableau? Well, because for the Viking ships and the building sites, which are already on your tableau, you need certain resources and buildings to get the points for them. And that tile has to be next to it at the end of the game. Also, for ships, you get minus points if you haven't filled them with the right stuff, so taking unlimited ships is not useful.
You can also score points by claiming trophies and collecting extra points for your buildings. The game ends when all Vikings have been placed. If you have the most points, you win and are elected jarl!
